@koss
No, you haven't got sharp eyes at all and you might need very, very thick glasses. Go and read the reviews, evidence is everywhere.

The whole 100% crop this is rubbish.
It's true that zoomed right in the Z does lose a little detail because Sony have eliminated the noise levels, but zoomed out and any other than 100% the photos are really nice, best of any Xperia series so far.
For me colours have been toned down which is really good, also focus and sharpness are nice and exposure is spot on. The X S tended to oversaturate photos in a slightly unnatural way.
Most people won't even look at the photos 100% crop, they are going to look at them onscreen zoomed out. I very rarely look at my S3 photos zoomed in. |

Don't worry. If the guy says iPhone 4s has a superior camera he's just blind.
This "100%" crop discussion is as idiotic as this viewing angles one.

I wonder how the Xperia Z camera will stand against the Nokia N8:s camera. I mean that camera is really good and has a proper flash. On the other hand the Xperia Z might have better algoritms and such... |

It's pathetic to see some idiots over at XDA say rubbish stuff about Z camera and screen without even getting their facts right.
Some guy even claimed S3 has better image quality than Z. LOL. PhoneArena compared Xperia S against S3 and declared Xperia S the winner and these guys are saying S3 is better than Z
Also another guy posted HTC One X and Nexus 4 have much better screen quality than Z and that Butterfly and Z camera quality is equal |

View angles still a problem for Sony... And i dont understand why. And looks like we have diff screen for same device again.

After this comparison, If any body flamed Xperia Z over it's display or viewing angles, I'll and then
Yeah with the butterfly it looks a little bit more over saturated in the first two pics from their comparison but that's a brightness setting... and the the first pic with the girl portrait looks like a Shampoo adv. for god sake... marvelously good

Koss is absolutely right. Shot at 100% zoom look unnatural, with absolutely no noise. Why some of you care about things like HDR, camera button, Exmor RS and stuff like that, but don't care about photo quality. Some of you say it's not a camera and nobody looks at their photos at 100%, but:
1. How to tell the difference between 3-5 mp and 13 mp photos then?
2. How to compare cameraphones with the same sensor resolution?
Can't we do sth together, like for expample somehow try to influence Sony Mobile's camera dept. at least to give people choice. Just simple thing like a less postprocessing mode. Why can't we, some with photographic background, etc say that photos are not so good when that's true, without being attacked? Xperia Z is probably the best phone available (soon), but it's camera is not satisfactory for some of us. Exmor RS is one of Sony's main selling points, so why can't I expect good, natural photos, at least at ISO 50? On the other hand, any true comparison will make sense only when other 13MP Exmor RS (or with different sensor) phones come out, but my feeling is. Xperia Z camera HW is top of the line, but getting rid of noise went far too far. |

Just so I know where you are coming from here, what are your thoughts on the pics in this link?

Remember you can download the originals. They are the best pics I have seen from the Z so far and I am hoping they are reprentative of the final software. |
