I wonder how could it happen too but they are totally different. All shops here on Dubai noticed the screen difference between z and zl. My zl sceeen is comparable to japan z's screen.

Doministry i trust your opinions so what do you think about all the camera sampled so far? Some people say there is less noise but less detail than pictures taken on the S?

Well as a whole pics are great. Low light is exeptionate.
What I care about is the amazing video and photo comparison on YouTube - head to head Z and iPhone 5.

100% crops? They dont's say that much. Sorry.
They say something but not all. Z has great advantages like colour reproduction, contrast.

The Xperia Z has also hit the top of the Expansys UK smartphone chart. It’s outselling the BlackBerry Z10 at Expansys France and is only one slot behind in Italy and Spain. Surprisingly, Xperia Z also took the top slot of the USwitch mobile tracker after debuting at number 2 in February. No other brand has been able to outsell Samsung Galaxy S III in the USwitch tracker since last summer; not Apple, not Nokia, not HTC. On the Phones4U “most popular contract phones” list of six models, the Xperia Z and Lumia 820 are the only two phones that aren’t made by Apple (AAPL) or Samsung (005930). The United Kingdom retailers seem to be giving Sony robust support in marketing the new flagship.

My friend just got his black XZ. I only played it for a while so can't say much about it. However I notice something strange on the screen when the screen is off. I can see some weird patterns that look like (filling the entire screen):

王王王王王王王王
王王王王王王王王
王王王王王王王王
王王王王王王王王

or like this in the picture (it's not taken by me but it's the same thing like in my friend's XZ)

Does anyone else has this issue? Is this a bad unit? If so, then I should tell my friend to exchange the phone. '

Thanks!

Sony Xperia Z Screen Protector GLAS.t Premium Tempered Glass

The GLAS.t is made to protect the LCD from damage and scratches with specially processed glass that has been reinforced to increase shock absorbency. The entire surface of the GLAS.t is transparent and when installed, there are no gaps between the LCD and the GLAS.t. This means the touch screen's sensitivity is not affected at all. To prevent any excess force from coming in contact with the edges of the screen protector we highly recommend that a case is used with the GLAS.t.

@Fransisco I'm sure will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is part of the circuitry of the screen, either the capacitive layer or the LCD itself.
I have a dig bick
You read that wrong

Ok, the Battery is ok (for my daily usage )
It managed to hold around 50% since this morning to now e.g. normal checking mail, browsing internet, games (PvZ, Fruit Ninja), Phone call etc

There are some issue with the area around the camera
-After a long use for gaming (around 30 mins) that area below the camera getting hot (the CPU is placed at that part?)
-When im taking photo, that part also getting hot too
-The Superior auto mode is not that good, the Normal setting + HDR capture is much better
-There are lots of option for taking photo, just like other Sony Camera i.e. Exposure Value, White Balance etc (Im not really good with camera options, so i set them to standard, only leave the HDR on)

+The Stamina mode was good, i left the screen off for around 3 hours (during lecture) and the battery still remained the same

I will post the battery usage pics to night

@Fransisco: I have not experienced something like that, you should take it back to the Store

It's the pattern of the touch layer. You should be able to see it in every smartphone that uses a capacitive touchscreen.

@Tsepz... I don't get you... Didn't S3 get 43 hours of endurance time...???
Also in video playback only S3 is better than Z... In talk-time & web-browsing S3 falls behind Z...!!!

That pattern is the digitizer under the screen. You can see it on some screens more than some others. The Xperia U and Go shows that pattern quite prominently. On the Xperia U though it showed up under white background

On closer inspection, the results are amazing. The battery of my N4 is drained ridculously fast in calls. Z users that actually call will be pleasantly surprised.

Furthermore, I think it's unfair that all phones are put on at 50% brightness. I'm pretty sure 50% brightness of the Z is almost more than 100% of the S3. Because Amoled screens tend to be a lot less brighter than LCDs, they have an advantage in web-browsing in this test, which you would think to be the opposite due to the amount of white displayed.

Also, the deduction of the endurance rating is pretty stupid too. GSMarena should have a tool to set your usage (of how much call time, video playing time and web browsing time you clock) and give results accordingly.

Battery stamina mode wasn't even turned on. Don't GSMarena love their Samsung bias. Sony further optimise their battery greatly via updates anyway, so it's not a problem. It should way longer than the S3 pretty easily, when displaying at the same true brightness.

Overall, the phone has a pretty amazing battery life for a 2330mAh battery.

Don't we all just love the way certain people put in snide remarks in comments? It's always amusing when it doesn't turn out their way and completely fails on them.

This has to be the longest excuse I've ever read!
WRT Battery, Stamina Mode, Power Save was not turned On on the Samsung either, and Samsung also further optimise power management and memory management via updates, the S3 was on ICS when it got that 50hours, in 4.1.2 battery has taken quite a boost.
Thanks for a good laugh though!
