I think that's what happened this year as well. Xperia T/TX/V came out in Q4 and at CES there will be new models. That doesn't mean they will have a short lifespan. They will continue to sell throughout most of 2013.

Same with the Q4 13 flagship.

The comparison is logical and it was right in front of my nose .

Honami I believe. I will cross check and update if it's not Honami.

@ViVi

I'd like to see $999. But I think about $599 - $699.

Interesting Read

is the 442ppi pixel density a "must have" for you, all other things being equal, or a "nice to have" ?

Actually it would be cool if they could make a pop up flash similar to their cybershots. That way it does not mess up the look of the phone and you might be able to angle it to bounce the flash. Nice drawing tho.

I guess maybe because they never reported them the actual sales figure? Or maybe it was lower in their study to include them with others. Either way even if you take the unconfirmed report of 8.8 m, it will be in the 9th position as total phones sold.

OT.
The rumors about the next iPhone are starting to pop up.
If true the 5S will be available early next year.

These are not smartphone only numbers, thses includes total numbers of mobile phones smartphones & dumbphones, this is why you see Nokia in second before Apple...
If you take only smartphones then Apple will be second & Sony will be third...

But I dont know why Sony isn't there also as they shipped more than RIM...

Anyway, at least those figures do prove Huawei shipped total 12 million feature + smart phones. Over smart PhoneArena should correct their article in which they stated Huawei shipped 16 million smartphones and was No.3

Sony Mobile named XDA Developers ‘OEM of the Year’

Sony Mobile has been named ‘OEM of the Year’ by XDA Developers, highlighting the strides the company has made to become as developer friendly as possible. Actions from Sony include allowing users to unlock their bootloaders to allow custom ROMs, releasing kernel source, being one of the only manufacturers we know to release a beta of their ICS firmware, releasing ICS for their entire 2011 Xperia range, open-sourcing much of its code and more recently taking the lead in the Xperia S AOSP project.

We may be a bit biased here, but even so, it’s hard to argue that any other manufacturer has been as open to the developer community as Sony Mobile has. It’s a well-deserved accolade and we offer our congratulations to all of the developers at Sony Mobile and everyone involved in the Xperia developer scene including the FreeXperia team.

This is a really awesome thing. It proves Sony wants, and is, changing.
