I think that current circumstances (Galaxy going S600, HTC also, ZTE on under clocked S800) are perfect for Sony to take some time for Z/ZL to sell as much as possible, and than launch a proper S800 phone during Q4 destroying the flagship market and taking the lead.

http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]-with-4-3-inch-amoled-display/
Maybe that's it
Gaga -------->1080p OLED s800
Honami---------->4.3" 720p OLED s600 (link above)
Both are gonna be in IFA

That way they skipped the s600 problem and could use the s800

Well man can dream

But would be cool.if it's right

@wolf1000
I can't provide you a 100% right answer
But I think it's the same but amoled is what Samsung calls it
Like soLux the rumored screen for s4 and super LCD of the htc one
They are both super IPS but different names

So Samsung giving up on AMOLED and going with LCD while Sony doing the reverse!??

Nobody is capable of producing a 5" 1080p OLED display. At least this year.
Sony will use a 720p OLED display.

Sony wont take the lead just because they introduce a phone with tegra 4 or s800. All the other manufacters are kind in sync with each other regarding chipsets, especially when most of them use snapdragons. The exception here being Sony... As always there will be a new flood of handsets utilizing the latest tech in q3/q4 so Sony wont take any lead on that front. I hope Sony brings other features like improved cameras, not just on paper which is the case with the z/zl, but for real. Something similar to what nokia did with the pureview. Or why not something like the padfone concept which I find really interesting. Since parts like processor, ram etc for a high end phones are near identical for each manufacter why not do something that sets you apart from the rest, something refreshing.

Well I don't think that Samsung couldn't make a FHD amoled then it's impossible
And Sony is the king of diplays I think they can at least make it with over 300 ppi
Not necessary over 400 ppi if u know what I mean

Edit: @XperiaCute exactly thats what I mean u can visit its site to know more about their OLED technology xD

I really don't think cameras on phones can come even close to something like the Sony NEX series and that's when you can say you have a good camera phone imo.

Conflicting reports regarding AU Optronics' OLED production status

Simply put. They are struggling and Sony should not count on them.
