Sony shrinks flagship Z1 smartphone to a more manageable size

Unfortunately, the Z1F appears to repeats most of the Z1's mistakes as well, including a less than top-tier display. Although it's sharp enough given the small size, and its color reproduction is vibrant when you look at it head-on, the Z1F shares the same poor viewing angles seen on just about every recent Sony smartphone.

Photos taken with the much-touted camera also exhibited similar processing issues such as artifacting and excessive noise reduction; lighting conditions at the announcement event were less than ideal, but the Z1F clearly struggled with white balance and exposure in places. Shots looked washed out next to that of the iPhone 5S, despite Sony having the superior lens and sensor on paper.

The guy at the Verge need his eyes check

At least don't quote such unreliable and pathetic sites!
The verge sucks too hard. . . , they are iTrolls at best !
They always keep licking the a$$ of apple and keep shitting about Sony.
As far as the display is concerned than most of the hands on have confirmed a much better(in other terms excellent) display in z1f ! And moreover washed out pics from the camera means that it's camera produces more natural, realistic pics while that iPhone they used as comparison is over saturated shit in terms of colors!
Verge is the Last Thing one should go for On This Planet!!!

@DACHA There are rumors that this would also have screen lottery, right? Probably not as much as what they did with the Z1, though.

I think the rumor is this wouldn't have screen lottery. ZOMBBQ from gaf said this isnt launching sooner WW is because the shortage of camera sensors and screen panels.

Sony is using multiple suppliers but the difference between panels is minimal. Much better than what was happening with the Z1.
