Indeed. That was my mistake... I was too expecting the S Master thing and IR. Does these take much space? (Actual question)
Don't know about S-master. If its a physical chip, then it can drain battery and heat up and of course take up space on the SoC, so that could be an issue.
IR blasters were relatively bulky, but I don't know how large they are right now. |

Maybe they haven't made a S Master chip small and efficient enough to fit into a phone with all the other things phones have these days. If I'm no mistaken its also easier for many OEMs to just use the standard audio chip that comes with Qualcomm SoCs.
WRT IR Blaster, the GS4 has it and that has to be one of the most compact phones around, it doesn't seem to be as bulky as they used to be.

It would be nice if Sony released a direct Lumia 1020 competitor with a big sensor. Is it possible to fit a 1" sensor into a phone and make it the same thickness as 1020 or 808? |

Ok, they won't be anywhere near as good as the Sony ones but even so, a lot of difference in price. |

I'll be waiting to see for Z1 mini and Xperia tablet Z2 or Z1 or whatever it is
Yesterday I was playing around with my old Xperia S, trying to set it as a media center somehow, but then I just realized I prefer much more that 4.3 size than my newer Xperia ZL, I just feel like, since it is narrower, it feels more like a phone than ZL
I was hoping to see if sony releases some 4.5 4.3 inches device later next year, if my carrier provides it, I will definetively change it. Although I'm happy with my ZL, only lacking waterproof feature |

It's a lot for people who will buy the phone sim free without a contract which will be around £500 so to pay another £300 for a lens would be a total of £800 that's a hell of a lot of money. |

Or you could buy those 5x zoom for £13.49 and a 12x zoom for £18.99 on Ebay for Z1. Pretty sure it will be in the market in no time. Want high quality lens, buy the smartshot lens. Or jut wait for other phone maker to sell these new kind of accessory for a cheaper price if any. Samsung will copy it in no time. Unless you are looking to troll every single time. |

Because they've seen other companies being able to pull off what sony can't. The smaller LG G2 has a bigger display, IR blaster, and similar or even bigger battery capacity. It also offers various other features. |
