They can. But I doubt Sony will launch any TVs in a phone conference.
It's unorthodox. |

They did launch TVs and laptops last year at IFA. IFA is like CES, not like MWC in Barcelona. |

No. iFA is a Mobile conference.
That's why there are lots of fridges and washing machines.
Actually, you can find all these things:
As JoJotaro said, it's more like CES, it's consumer related.

Sony launched a lot at IFA last year. New TV's (including the first 4K one, my jaw dropped five floors down), Windows 8 Vaio's, Xperia Tablet S, new camera's, PS3 WonderBook, new headphones and some new Walkmans, ... |

So on the left side there's the microUSB port and microSD slot, on the right side there's just the sim slot? It seems pretty big.

I was just gonna say that.
But it does look way too big for SIM. |

I remember that I saw a diagram of a slide out tray that has the FCC, CE & bla bla bla codes... so they can keep the back side clean. Not like how Xperia Z backside...

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice how large that SIM port is. It is in the perfect spot for a pop up xenon flash. I also checked my RX100 and it's flash is not that much thicker than Honami itself.
I know that it's 99.99% certain there is no xenon, but I want to hold out hope damnit |

Damn, I think you're right!
Yeah, that was my first thought, too
There has to be the SIM slot, but why is the flap so big?
Another port under it? I don't really think that, but anyway we'll find out soon..
