surely its Xenon. it can't be anything else

C690X doesn't have Xenon, as of now. Sony might add it.

Honestly, I doubt that's the IR blaster. Why would I want to control my TV like I'm taking a picture? That's just awkward and inconvenient.

On Japanese forums people are speculating this may be a Japan model or Japan version because of the IR Blaster.

Off Topic,
Someone said he hopes Softbank deal with Sprint will bring Japanese phones in particular Sony to US.
But in Japan, Softbank does not offer xperia for what i saw.
You might get Sharp and Fujitsu phones but they seem reluctant to sell overseas, not sure to understand the rationale.
Exception for Fujitsu who started to promote smartphones for the elderly in Europe if i am correct.

Edit: Softbank does not offer Panasonic, Toshiba, NEC, Casio or Kyocera phones either, except a few models from 2011 or so that are still promoted, i do not think they actually sell it.

What sense does it make to put a IR-Blaster at the back? Imagine how you would hold your phone as remote... not good.

can you answer my question

unknown13x already confirmed Interchangeable lens, S-Master is also most likely on board.

Don't misunderstand my word. What I heard isn't interchangable lens. It will be just add-on accessories. Probably something like this.

I don't think it could be interchangeable in any other way other than accessories. How on earth could they implement an interchangeable lens mechanism that DSLRs have on a phone anyway?

It is the IR transmitter
In Japan, they do it in a different way. Two phone back to back with each others and exchange their contact details such as email, phones etc (through IR transmission)
I think this is why they put it on the back

Regarding Honami, i like the idea of camera lenses accessories the big lenses at the back will make the phone became awkward

I shall repeat this story again

Singapore was actually a test-bed for these magnetic lens. When Xperia V came, Sony gave the first few hundred customers free magnetic lens to hook up to the Xperia V. Xperia V had the lens capabilities apparently, but not many people knew.
