So, Honami isn't as camera centric as some of us would have liked it to be. No big deal. Having a xenon flash would have been nice, but apparently, we'll be getting a thinner device instead. That should make some people happy. With a bigger sensor and exmor-rs, low light photos should still be better than older phones. not to mention the new jpg algorithm. overall, we SHOULD see an improvement over older models and should be better than other flagship general purpose phones since honami will have a larger sensor.

it is interesting to me that it will have interchangeable lens design on a non-camera centric phone. almost seems gimmicky at that point. but either way, as much as i love photography, i wouldn't be one to invest in interchangeable lenses for my phone when i'd much rather invest in lenses for my dSLR.

There is a lot of slim devices from which we can choose, not just by Sony, but from other manufacturers as well. With Xenon flash Honami would show something new, otherwise in terms of usability, and functions what real improvements could you name?
And without Xenon flash is nearly impossible to take a decent shot at a party for example, doesn't matter how improved the low light performance it is. And a party photo would be the perfect example also, where you don't want to carry a camera but you don't want to miss the moment either.
I think, and I hope that after four years break all important manufacturers will implement again Xenon flash in their camera centric (and not necessarily high-end) models. This time, without Xenon flash, Sony would be behind the competition again, in spite of Sony Ericsson was THE leader in this field in 2005-2006 with the K750, and K800.

What do you mean behind competition again? Xperia Z was never behind competition. Most consumers DON'T give a damn whether it's a LED, Xenon or plasma flash. As long the phone looks awesome, priced effectively, consumers will buy it.

Why are Xbox fanboys so excited about Xbox One day one pre-orders getting in front of PS4 in US. Isn't it like PS4 leading in Japan?

No No, I was just asking Huiyi as S800 supports 4K video encoding and since the Honami sensor is a newly developed one, it might have support for 4K video..

In my opinion 1080p/60fps is more important than 4K in phone.
