Just got one of these, some websites like GSMArena say that the camera is very good, whereas others say it's poor because it's only 5MP, how do you think it stand up to others like the Xperia S? and the S2 and S3?

Some very low light samples here that I took today:-

What do you think of these shots?

Those examples look great imo I too have read on some sites that the camera is average but it doesn't seem like that at all

It does seem to struggle a bit with darker environments like any other Samsung smartphone, but nothing major, your examples pretty good overall, comparable to what i get out of my GS2, a little lower on quality in darker pics, but for the most part comparable to S2,IMO.

Congrats and enjoy your Galaxy Nexus btw!!

First of all, there's nothing to tell about quality of a pic posted in 500x375 resolution Practically all pics over 2MP look very good in this resolution.

Now to the quality part. It ain't bad, in fact it's slightly worse than Xperia S i.e. But bear in mind, it's not a big achievment, as Sony have falled behind drastically, and now offer below average camera quality.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. It's poor for it's class. When someones says that a phone has 12 MP camera I would excpect much more than what Xperia S has to offer.
