I bought this p800 from this guy but when i tried to change it to my sim card it asked for the lock code! apparently it only worked with his sim and when i changed it to mine it asked for a code. Unfortunately i found this out only when i got home. i tried asking him the code and texting him but he never replied. can any of u help me? can SE service centers reset it for me? or can i do it by myself?

You might need to have your P800 flashed. If the p800 is commercially available in your region, contact semc to have them flash the firmware.

unfortunately, this is the device lock... a feature on most GSM phones, but most common on Ericsson phones. This is the FIRST level of defense against a stolen phone, it prevents unauthorized people from using your phone (in case it gets stolen)

I'm not sure if reflashing it would remove the device lock, as this did not do so with previous Ericsson handsets. If a master reset doesn't work, you'll have to leave the phone with SE for a week or two and they will do a system reset. At the same time, might as well have the SW upgraded.

Before you do anything though, try 0000 as this is the default security code on Ericsson/SE phones. And keep trying to call the guy.

How much did you pay for the P800? It sounds like a stolen handset to me. Get hold of the person you bought it from. If this person has misteriously disappeared, you probably want to report this to the authorities, if you're a good person.
