With VNC viewer you can remotely control your PC right from your P800. The application shows your PC desktop. You can control mouse, send texts, run applications etc.

I have downloaded the server onto my PC and i0nstalle dthe viewer on the P800. Is it possible to us ethe viewer via Bluetooth? What settings do I need to put into the Host and Screen fields?

Thanks,

Eamonn

you have to put in the ip adress for your pc, choose a password in the server, on the P800 set the screen to 0

It is possible to use VNC over Bluetooth. But you can not use the original vnc server, you have to use the other VNC server, i dont remember the name on the server, but i got it at home. I can post the name on it when i come home.
Just remember that you have equal screen on the P800 and the vnc server on your computer. Useuall it's screen : 0

I found it, install this server on your computer. It's called TightVNC, but remember that you have to set it in "Loopback connection"

here is where u you can get it: http://www.tightvnc.com/

Thanks Jorns but I still can't get it to work. In host i put my computer's IP adress, screen I put 0 (I've also set it as 0 in the server) and I've put in the password. When I click go, the program just exits!

I have that problem as well, but its because my dsl-router doesnt allow connections to the port that vnc uses (port 5900),
it works great whenever I have my laptop at work or so on, but never at home!
If anyone knows how to create a local connection with vnc-server and vnc viewer via bluetooth, please let me know! cuz today vnc viewer only wants to connect to external IP!

Take a look at the documentation here:

http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/winvnc.html

You may need to add the "AllowLoopback" registry entry. Your P800 has the same IP address as your PC when it is connected through mRouter, which may be why VNC is refusing the connection. By default VNC does not allow you to connect a viewer to a server, when both have the same IP address.

You have to have the bluetooth connection on your P800 on, and connected to your computer.

Just remember, if you are connecting your pc to internet trough a router then you have to remember to use your internal IP. Such as 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x..
Otherwise it will try to connect outside your router.

Thanks for that.

The only problem I have now is that the Phone Monitor won't connect over Bluetooth - argh!!

I'll have to keep trying..
