Wow, that's impressive work by Samsung! I also read that the LG Optimus 4X HD began receiving JB last week, so that's three of the four major 2012 Android flagships (Samsung GS3, HTC One X, LG Optimus 4X) with Android JB, Xperia S being the only one left, seems I was also correct about the long wait for XS update.

Quit clowning around. You conveniently 'forget' to mention the Xperia T and V. And even the optimus g. And I would wait slightly longer for a better update. The S user's complaints will stop when it rolls out because they'll realise their update is better than the others.

If I mentioned T, V and Optimus G I'd then also have to mention GS3 LTE AND GNOTE2 which I didn't as I was talking about the initial 2012 flagships, seems you conveniently ignored that, that OR I'll have to go over and above a complete explanation so that you can understand

The S user's complaints will stop when it rolls out because they'll realise their update is better than the others.

there's a better chance of pigs growing wings and flying, you know that, I know that, and everyone else knows that, quit trying to fool yourself.

Apparently the original Galaxy note will be getting Android 4.2 as its last update.

Yep, GS2 and Note1 will end at Android4.2.2, phenomenal support by Samsung, most of the competition; SE Arc/Arc S, Htc Evo 3D, Sensation, LG Optimus 3D and Optimus 2X never made it passed 4.0.4. Thats near Nexus type support when you consider the fact that the only other 2011 Android on 4.2.2 is the Galaxy Nexus, but I'm sure that will go on to get Android5.0.

Importantly too is that most of the phones you mentioned are dual core and were once thought of as "future proof" and therefore would get updates well beyond ICS 4.0.4 even to JB. The LG Optimus 2X for sure as the first dual core should have got a bit further. LG seemed a bit hesitant to update it.

Good to be going back over this thread nearly one year later and comparing.

For a 2010 SOC phone this update is way harder than the rest.
And is good to see that the Guarulhos's spirit still alive here with the peeve against Sony.
Congratulations Tsepez and the rest of Sammy boys.

Sure, especially knowing that their 4.1 JB update will be released less than a month before Android 5.0 announcement... I think Sony is getting their slowness to entire new level... These are my predictions for Google I/O in May 2013:

Samsung:
"It's just a matter of time the 5.0 update hits all our flagships and numerous budget models, released in the last year and a half!"

Slowpoke Sony:
"Hey, people, came here and take a look, we finally managed to update our entire* 2012 portfolio to the latest Android version - 4.1 JB!

*Of course without Xperia U, Xperia Sola, Xperia Go, Xperia Miro, Xperia Tipo, a few other Xperia's... And in case you're lucky enough to get notification, we advise you not to update your smartphone, because our update is really bad-optimized and contains a variety of bugs, and we're not responsible if you damage or brick or overheat or whatever you do your phone."

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

I am using Samsung Galaxy Fit (GT-S5670) and Android version is 2.3.6 Gingerbread. Is it possible to change Jelly Bean version?
