I thought it was rather cool when I once seen someone do an under water video with their Xperia Active Under a swimming pool.

If this thing had quad-core. Damn. Dual-core does it for me though I can't help but think how it would just fly off the shelves had it been in trend when it comes out. Quad-core next year then trailing as always when there'd be other cooler hardware innovations by then

Even if it was a dual-core Qualcomm S4 Krait it would be amazing, i dont get why they use the S3 and not the Krait or NovaThor, both run rings around that outdated S3, and the Krait is more comparable to the Quad-core Tegra3, beating it in graphics and a number of other things.

It's quite easy for us to ask Sony to replace a soldered chip on their smartphone's PCB, as if it was really easy to do at the first place. but then again those devices were designed when SE was still around. Sony is having massive financial troubles right now, so releasing a phone that only sucks at SoC performance doesn't hurt imho, especially if the phone hardly suffers from low FPS when gaming at its native resolution and etc. I'm pretty sure most of us think that SoCs are all that matters in a phone now. perhaps if P800 was remade with 8core SoC and PowerVr SGX 600 GPU while retaining the rest of it's specs then even Samsung fans would ditch their SIII's for that wouldn't they?

What people want and what works are two different things. Sony has to balance it out which it hasn't been doing for a while now. This has manifested in their declining marketshare.

How do I choose Xperia acro S as Avatar/rank model?

just when I'm contemplating on whether to buy it now or later via eBay, Sony announced that they'll releasing it in the USA. so now I'm wonder should I wait to buy the USA version, which is where I Live or buy a different version? basically what is the difference, really? does the USA version have 4G HSDPA that compatible with T-Mobile USA?

I'm also wondering if this news means they'll release it to a carrier, but most likely AT&T, and I have T-mobile, which doesn't get cool Xperia phones.

Also I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get wi-fi calling, people calling you, or you calling them, via your phone number (tmobile) but doesn't charge minutes. one thing I love about Wi-fi is that T-mobile signal is weak here, but with wi-fi calling it's doesn't matter.

Received my white Acro on Tuesday...and it rocks! What a nice step up from the X10 (which I loved).

First impressins were of it's extra weight compared to the X10, but I put this down to the double construction. Love the charging dock. Clips in beautifully and charges quickly!

Screen is large (not as large as a Samsung S3) of course, but it's much brighter! This phone is solid, feeling very well constructed. Looks great in white (as a few friends commented yesterday!) So easy to slide Sim card and micro SD into the side ports.

Camera boots up fast and the LED flash actually works very well!! Lights up a dimly lit room very effectively! (This was something the X10 could not do) On screen icons easier to access than X10 too!

So pleased to see that many of the features I had to add to my X10 (like a decent swipe keyboard with audio input) are standard on my Acro! Even some decent Apps (such as a weather app that I like) come on the phone.

A pleasure to use, the menus are snappy. The loudspeaker is loud, just takes a while to get used to the side position of the power button and the lower location of the audio buttons. All buttons are on one side (the right). First day of use and the battery performed admirably. I was at 30% after 15 hours with quite a lot of use downloading apps.

For me the Acro is a very big step up from the X10 (which I still respect as a great phone for it's time). I'm very happy I bought this and as a friend said to me several times yesterday, that phone looks great in white!

Yesterday I said to a couple of workmates, "Imagine a phone you can immerse in up to a metre of water for up to 30 minutes with a 12 MP camera and is dustproof too". Then I pulled the phone from my pocket and said, "Well, here it is." The look on their faces was priceless!

since the Xperia ion released a HSPA+, which is capable of 4G on T-mobile USA, is there a possibility for one with the Acro S as well? I can only hope... so maybe I should hold on even when the US release is out, maybe there will be a HSPA+ version, even a LTE version...

Got mine yesterday and I love it.
Great screen (better in sunlight than the S3) and colors seems more natural.
Nice UI. Many good widgets, I only miss a proper calendar widget.
The camera seems very capable (love the camerabutton and the quick start/shot function)
The walkman (jippi) is the best musicplayer so far and gives great listening experience.
And the build quality is very good
And YES it is waterproof
