Microsoft & Mac = Nokia & SonyEricsson |

Anyone else noticed this?
One makes boring, similar products and tries to wring all the money it can from people by making them constantly upgrade whereas the other actually appears to value its customers and treats them well?
I would say that Mac and SonyEricsson also have bundles of style, but with the latest SE releases...well, the less said the better.
Still, I hold my t68i as a shining example of how phones should be made.

Yes, I agree that this really might be the right analogy ;-)

Yes, I agree with you. I'm affraid, that in near future there will be same situation with market share too. However, threre will be stil enought crazy people, which will use Mac or SE phones. I cant imagine, how I could work on PC!

That's true.
Can somebody tell me why some of us always choose the underdogs when we buy computers, cellphones, etc?
Is it that we feel more special and different because we don't use the same products as most other people?
Anyway, I think that my PowerBook G4 and P800 goes very well with eachother. I just need iSync support for the little critter |

Hello Iceduck, I have a 1 Ghz PowerBook G4 and presently I use it with my T68i. The Bluetooth works very well for the two. I might be buying the P800 soon but I am worried the Bluetooth on the PowerBook might not work so well with the P800. What do you think? Best wishes, kayes. |

Well said, Macs & SEs are not for everybody. By the way, regarding Linux, Motorola maybe? :-)

Well I have to disagree with you, and with this strange although I guess understandable tribal behaviour of bashing Nokia phones. I've always thought that almost all Nokia models are very well designed both ergonomically and esthetically; on the other hand (Sony)Ericsson models have been quite ugly and I'm still not convinced of their design.
The user interface of Nokia phones may have been lacking before but it has always seemed very solid and logical; I've only used SE T68i for a few weeks now and although not being an expert on SE phones I wouldn't go around claiming that Nokia is like Microsoft on designing bad operating system. In fact I've always thought that Nokia is more like Apple in designing beautiful hardware with superior software; it's SE that's been making cluttered and illogical operating system/user interface. You must remember that just a few years ago Ericsson was much bigger than Nokia, but it fell far behind because of bad market strategies and, in my opinion, by not designing and manufacturing as good phones as Nokia.
The only reason that I bought T68i was because I'm a mac user and really the only option is to use SE phones in syncing mac with the phone; the quality that I really wanted. I certainly don't hate SE, but when I first came to these Esato forums and started noticing some similarities between pc / mac -debate that I've seen through the years I felt quite confused (and disgusted because of some comments that I've seen). And it didn't take long to realize that some people here would compare SE with Apple. Well, what can I say, to me Nokia has always been more design conscious and more stylish than Ericsson, and still is. And you must remember that Nokia doesn't seem to like Microsoft very much, and that can only be a good thing in this world that needs some balancing of economical power.

I agree, previously nokia was good in model and reliability, but now it's reversed, if you try newer nokia you'll know what i mean, since 7210 and follower all nokia phone have worst performance and feature, simple example they all don't have voice dial, beside poor hardware and software reliability. It's opposed with SE right now.

The connection is there... lets hope it stays strong between Sony Ericsson & Apple... already integrated the T68i VERY well, lets see if the P800 gets on board as well as future models such as the Z1010... I am extremely happy with my T68i and G4 integration over Bluetooth.

microsoft rocks and the sales prove it and they are still the no. 1 in world no doubt about it. i also like apple stuff but their pc's are expensive. as for nokia and SE, they are both the same now to me. nokia makes phones with bugs so does SE. it's true, it's true
