Tranced like you I am no fan of Apple products but I like this one and Samsung has really let me down with the offerings they put out last week at MWC. This certainly makes the Galaxy Note 10.1 look jokey. Might get one for the Misses.

You know I like where our technology world is heading but what's really sad is, we yet don't have powerful software or interface that can replace laptop and I totally disagree that tablets don't have the potential to do that. Right now it seems all blur and a device between smartphone and laptop but it's a device which is powerful to take on any category it wants.
We all have been dreaming about tablets for years and years and after Steve, it become a ground reality. Of course we saw it before but they didn't work that well as iPad did. As of now, I do own an iPad and I think it's amazing. It does a lot of work for me, both in work and entertainment. With iWork and games like GTA 3, it's a bliss.
Still it lacks the major part. USB, a proper MS Office which can be fluid to work on, file sharing, better browser and so on.
Basically it must do what a laptop can do. What's the point of having quad core, f that. Let's get some real things down on the table. Who cars about that stupid Siri? Oh it's so cool? Really? It's bullshit. It's pure marketing and that's why they don't give to older devices and only on iPhone 4S. I need ground breaking innovation where I do my daily stuff hassle free.
90% worldwide office and MNCs use Microsoft office for their work. Why there is no innovation in that? Microsoft knows that their Windows OS is crap. It hangs and sometimes it makes the hardware system uncontrollable. Everyone in their lifetime has formatted Windows because of virus or some problems. I've never formatted my system on Mac.
We going to the right direction but all for crap reasons. They should focus more on productivity than entertainment. F 1080p, retina or 5mp. Give me USB, it's so important for my daily work! God what's the problem?

Indian, I think the problem with the things you mentioned is that Apple wants to keep one locked to their ecosystem and therefore they end up not putting certain critical elements onto the iPad. Imagine you still have to hook the iPad up to a computer to add music and other files but no sensible USB/USB replacement.

Certainly we yet can't still compare them as tablets lack some physical features. But all they're trying to do is to show off. Nothing else.

I'm still not sure why I would ever buy any tablet over a laptop. The form-factor for a laptop is perfect. A perfect hardware keyboard for fast touch-typing and a screen that you can adjust. Who'd want to do away with that.

I love laptop But tablet takes away half the space and makes it light. Secondly, it's battery life is double than laptop. It's perfect to carry anywhere and open anywhere. Very handy in a crowded place.
Let's not get into ultra netbook or 11"inch laptop. Nothing beats tablets when it comes to easy of carrying a device.
True, you got to connect iPad to PC for transferring music and photos which is ridiculous after having such a smart OS which is able to do a lot more than what it does.
