I'm not too conceded about the battery life yet. I charge my X10 mini every third day while others did it 2 or 3 times per day, so I guess my usage pattern will suit the XP battery well. On first charge after almost 17h the battery had dropped just 4% in standby and that without the new extended power save function enabled, so I guess at least the standby time seem to be good. However, this is without a SIM inserted (I was supposed to get a new one today, but it did not happen), so things may change once I insert a SIM as well.

Then you haven't seen an all black XP live. It looks stunning. Personally I prefer schemes where colors blend together with as small contrast as possible (Apple tends to get this right in their products). In that respect, at least silver and black does not fit my taste.

Sounds about right. My mom gets 3 days on her Xperia U. I get one day on my Xperia P. The Extended Battery Mode only works if you use data. It disables 3G data 15 min after the screen has turned off. So if you don't use data, this isn't necessary.

Also note, every feature is turned on with my P. Wifi, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G data (locking your phone to either 3G or 2G saves battery as well. WCDMA preferred uses up a significant chunk of battery life when your phone keeps switching modes)

Most average users should get 1 hour per 2% of battery. Light users can get more than 2x of that.

If you use Facebook, Twitter, any SNS or IM app ... that will kill your phone in a day or less.

I like all the colors of the P, they all look quite elegant to me. I just have a personal affinity towards silver, but the black and the red one look really good.

Here comes the first impression:

1. I have a big keyboard again. I realized how much I did use to vertical keyboard on Xray.
2. Notification led is too small. Hard to see from all the angles. XRay's is much better.
3. Home button is useless when the screen is off. I used to unlock the screen using home button than the screen lock. They are close enough. So you can do it quite fast. On P I have to use onoff button than the screen lock.
4. Feels quite nice. Holding P is like holding X10. But more elegant and small. I love the X10's feeling on hand. So this is a great plus.
5. Speed is great. I didn't feel the same when I got the Xray last year.
6. Speed camera is not fast enough

Love the phone overall. I'll get used to it quicker than I thought.

Depends a bit on your network coverage/quality. Where I live I get equal amount of time no matter if 3G is on or off,
so I usually have 3G on + BT 24/7 (no WiFi or GPS since I don't use them).

Arne Anka, running on either 2G or 3G gets more or less the same battery. It's when your phone has to keep switching between the 2 is where it drains quickly. Even more than having a weak 2G/3G signal. So I normally just lock my phone to 3G only.

I know, but it only needs to switch between 2G and 3G if your 3G coverage is bad. Where I live it is not. I never loose the 3G symbol, not even in house (event our archipelago a bit outside of Stockholm has surprisingly good 3G coverage). When I bought my X10 mini back in 2010 I run it only on 2G the two first weeks. Then I switched over to 3G and noticed no difference in battery life.

Basically, where I live constant switching between 2G/3G is not an issue (you should really visit Stockholm and see it for your self ).

At least here in Sweden I have not seen any places that accepts NFC payments yet, so my answer is no.

jplacson - thanks for all the help. i dont tick the extended battery mode on as I always turn off my data thingy. haha!

Ah, if data is off, battery life is quite excellent.

Best I got on my ray w/ data enabled was 12 hours. On the P w/ the same use, I got almost 24 hours.

Extremely heavy use on the P on wifi only, I get 15 hours.

MKV (1080p 5.1 encoded) movies really kill the phone at a max of 4.5 hours constant playback.

i turn on bluetooth for about 3-hrs a day bcause i have MW600 for music.

my vids are .avi, xvid/divx and mp4s. haha!

so far, battery's good
