@djin: I agree. I don't think that the screen protector should affect the signal properties, though. But it's nice to see a video of someone trying to recreate the "death grip" and failing to do so.

Regarding Sony's "Antennagate": never happened to me in real life so far that a connection was dropped. A lot of fuzz about nothing (is it summer vacation time already??)

Too much issues in that phone here in Russia.
Bad voice quality, poorly attached bottom part, problems with signal reception, often not unlocking to answer the call,
strange color on max brightness.
Lags on different games.

Can you give us a link to those russian issues. I was thinking of sending my Xperia S back and getting a P, but it is not looking like it is worth it just to get an aluminum body.

Regarding battery life. Of what I've read so far, battery life is not better nor worse than the rest of smartphones. It will take you through the day. Somewhere in some forum it was stated it had better battery than the Xperia S. Of course I also would have like better battery but I think it will be acceptable.

I usually do 1-3 hours of browsing, wifi all day connected, 1-2 to hours of music and every once in a while a game. I get a full day out of the S, sometimes with 30-40 percent left if I don't game at all on it. I think some people haven't figured out how to get more life from the S.

Anyways how is the heat dissipation, with it being aluminum. My S can get pretty hot sometimes and it can be annoying. I read in an early review that the phone can get pretty toasty even compared with the S.

xenia is either Eldar's greatest fan or Eldar Murtazin himself. So far ur the only one I've seen bad mouthing the Xperia P, something he is KNOWN for doing, especially with Nokia phones in the past.

This is looking like a solid phone the more I hear about it and cant wait til it comes out. Wanted the GX but I just lost my Neo so I need a replacement sooner than later. Was worried about the battery but seems like it will last more than I'd need it to!

Xperia P at 50% brightness at the left, HTC Desire HD at 100% brightness at the right.

Xperia P at the left, HTC Desire HD at the right, both at 100% brightness.

Sorry mate. The result is the same or similar even when compared with newer phones. Xperia P outperforms most screens out there when it comes to brightness according to Swedroid, which performed the review.

From the review (translated from Swedish)

Everything above sounds good in theory, but how well does it work in reality ? We can imediately conclude that it works well - the brightness is fantastic and outperforms all phones we have compared with, including LG optimus Black, which was the previous king of brightness.
