Does it realy matter which is the better one ? The phone is fast and performs exellent in every way

You are right about the performance but the screen sucks.
I had the phone for about a month now and the screen is getting yellower every day.
Got it all the way around the frame of the screen and by the unlock slider.
Very annoying.

You have a faulty screen, get to a Sony service center and they take care the problem.
You have just a faulty screen, their is nothing you can do than switch the screen.

Take care and don't wait to long.

My problem is that the phone is not available in the US. Costumer service told me to try to exchange it through the retailer I got it from because it cannot be repaired in the US.
It sucks big time.

1.5GHz Scorpion CPU over 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 CPU

Lll. You realize both are cortex a9 cpu's right? One is overclocked the other isn't.

Lol they are not. Galaxy SII has Cortex CPU while Xperia S packs a Scorpion unit. I think You mistook galaxy SII with HTC Sensation. Since HTC Sensation uses same CPU as Xperia S but it's clocked at 1.2 GHz.

I may still need clarification on this. If, with your correction, I'm not mistaken then ALL Snapdragon cpu's before the S4 are based on Cortex A8's which is worse than the A9 architecture and superset of the Arm 7 design?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)

How can the 1.5 Scorpion out perform standard Cortex A9 which in most instances uses PowerVR chips vs the Adreno 205/225 junk which doesn't compare in frames/video compiling/decompiling?

Scorpion is based on Cortex A8 structure but Qualcomm do it with they own special design, not the same average Cortex A8 from other company.

PowerVR graphic is powerful we all know that fact, but you need to look at GSMArena benchmark for XPERIA S those Linpack and Nenamarks 2. Sony done a majestic optimized for chipset,

here why? XPERIA S has higher resolution than Sensation XE at same chipset same clock speed, in theory lower resolution should have better performance but except this one higher res from XPERIA S gain upper hand against lower res from Sensation XE, about 10 frame rate better.

XPERIA S chipset has equal performance as Galaxy S2 in Linpack performance test, we all know the Exynos 4210 is one of the most powerful chipset in 2011 and trash it all competitors but XPERIA S is exceptional.

I think Sony (Ericsson) team, is the man who responsible for the majestic performance for XPERIA S, they know-how is key factor to make the most of it till a single last drop, but small price to pay for, because of Swedish-refined scheme (a perfectionist I mean) they product is bit late arrival to the market.

sorry for my English anyway, I not usual to very long comment.

@darkkrypt ordered mine from clove n it came with hdmi cable but the four smarttags they promised will be sent in a seperate package once they are in stock. Wish it came with a smart headset cos im planning on getting one now.

Xperia s is awesome, best phone from sony yet. Software optimisations are excellent and it seems so much more fluid than the arc s which wasnt that slow anyway. im really loving what sony have done for their phones.

I got two questions related to the standard e-mail app in Xperia S. If below issues can't be resolved, maybe someone can suggest another e-mail app that I can use?

1. When I download e-mails with attachments, will the attachments be downloaded at the same time as well, or will they be downloaded later (for example, when I chose to open them). I can't find any settings regarding this and the reason I want to know is because I don't want to download attachments unless I have to when I'm abroad (due to high roaming costs).

2. My e-mail server is set to store e-mails for 3 months, so there will always be plenty of e-mails to download if I haven't updated the phone inbox for a while (I've set it to update manually because usually I don't need to use the phone for e-mailing). Hence, when checking the e-mail on my phone I'm typically only interested in checking, say, the last 2-24 hours worth of inbox. Is there some way to limit how old e-mails I want to download?

Check XDA, you'll know. Unknown13x also mentioned it today in the hayabusa thread.
