Seriously, what's with people complaining about no micro SD slot ? Iphone 4/4S with 16/32 GB storage sold millions!! Nobody complained then, at least the sales figure do not indicate that people ACTUALLY need more than 32 gb of space.

And how many of you Arc/GS2/Sensation and other high end smartphone owners here use more than 32 GB space ? I would love to know.
With the Arc essentially 32GB was the max storage you could get as it has just about 500mb internal memory. I do not see any posts in any Arc forum people complaining that they wish they could get more than 32 GB storage in their phones.

Please tell me what RADICAL new change occured between December last week and January 9th that suddenly phones NEED to have more than 32 GB space ???
You all do realize that more than 95% of phones have max storage capacity of only 32 GB ???? And that includes many high end devices including the entire 2011 Xperia lineup.

OK why the need for memory cards getting bigger? There is a 64Gb card out. And I bet they working on a 96GB card too

I am not saying that people do NOT need more than 32 GB memory, but I am sure for 90% of the consumers will not bother much about the lack of micro sd slot. Its not a HUGE deal breaker as some guys here are making it out to be.

Agree, most people don`t use even 8GB storage. People like us, complaining about everything from storage to camera quality on the forums don`t count more than 5% of customers.

I do not complain about the camera, cas I myself will mostly set lesser than 12mp and will know that Sony will not fully utilize their camera sensor ability in view of... their own Digital cameras, just like the PSP.

I only gripe about these 2:

1) No external storage (I personally used up ard 30Gb+ of spaces and just reserved further usage because of the card storage limit. You can watch beautiful movies and good clips on the "under-utilized" display, listen to high quality music, read good stories and useful e-books, download very useful applications... So many uses! Back up contacts and transfer to a new Xperia just like how I am going to transfer ALL these stuffs onto this upcoming phone from my Arc, Card to card). But it seems I need to transfer to my PC 1st, then to phone... Cannot upgrade storage to 64Gb card...

2) MICRO SIM (WTF) Gotta get a new SIM card...

I'm pretty sure it also supports traditional SIM cards. Micro SIM is just an added feature.

A standard SIM can be cut to fit MircoSIM slots.

Er.. just like they had the K850 accept both MicroSD and M2 memory cards.

If not, you can always just cut out the plastic bits from your mini sim to turn it into a micro sim. There are instructions on how to do that on the internet and it seems fairly easy.

I think it isn't up to the smartphone brands to accept micro and mini SIM but to the providers to offer both of them. If the manufacturers can produce the phone in a better way if they size down the SIM slot, then it's okay. That's the way how new standarts come up.
In Germany for example the providers offer hybrid SIM cards.
They have to match the smarthphone manufacturers and not the other way around. That's just my opinion.

Yes I am well aware that you can cut it out, but having a port that would accept both the Micro SIM and SIM cards would be not only stupid but impossible, the K850i could accept the two different memory cards because they were both of similar size whereas in this case one is more smaller then the other (obviously).

It's so hard to tell right now. Don't have much hope. Remember, these are basicly SE phones with SE drivers. Sony's influence in camera dept. will probably only be felt in 2H 2012 models or even later
