These Moto phones are really impressive !!. Much better than the Lumias. And the battery life is just crazy on the HD MAXX.

Wish they worked more on the design front though, the original Droid Razr was stunning.

@goldenface, of course, if a company says that they're not impressed then they're not good. coz every company knows that battery life is one of the main concerns for users specially smartphone users... Moto did manage to increase the battery life by implementing larger battery in the same envelope... they did it with the cost of other technologies and features.. but they managed to create a well balanced device...

If Sony wanted to learn they can... it's only matter of design and engineering... the camera position and size is the hardest one.. but even with Sony usual designs they can use 2000+mAh in a device like Xperia T/TX and they can make a Maxx version without the arc in the back...

Moto was able to have such a thin device as they used both thin battery and thin display ( AMOLED ), LCD panels are thick compared to AMOLED as they require back-lighting which is not required in AMOLED.. so Moto did put the display, main board and the battery all in their thin profile... While Sony in Xperia arc could not add the board, they only added the LCD and battery in arc thinnest part... but the battery it self was thick compared to Moto approach as Moto approach was to use larger space in X+Y dimension to save the depth (Z)... If Sony used this trick then they will be able to have thinner arc in the middle, but I think it wont be as though as current arc design... thin devices has their own drawback already

For the Lumias , I think Nokia still like their design thought these are just outdated now, how long they have used this design now ?

Spec wise it's okay, on bar with other S4 devices, thought I hoped they went for TI OMAP instead so they can save more S4's for Android

@aurelius

That's what I said. The design isn't good and it could even be called UGLY but the features and hardware are nice. Except the camera of course, which is most definitely going to be a disappointment as Moto cameras always are.

@Xajel

Do not worry bro, the Lumias won't sell much anyway
Sony sold more Xperia phones in a single Quarter than total Lumia sales in 1 year

@randomuser,
I'm not worried at all about WP8 sales, but those S4 are just wasted on this WP8, it deserve something else not precious like S4

Hmm that's true. They could have done with 1.5 ghz S3 as in the Xperia S. Anyway even with so much power, the UI is slightly laggy on the 920. Also camera isn't that fast,switching to video is much faster on the Xperia S even. Lumia 920 seems to take a good 5-10 seconds.

From what i can conclude it seems like its just going to be an overclocked version of the original? Something like adreno 220 to 225.

MSM8974 will run at between 2.0GHz and 2.5GHz, with 2MB of L2 cache, 800MHz DDR3 dual-channel memory support and Adreno 320 graphics.

APQ8064 quad core will run at 1.5 GHz with the Adreno™ 320 GPU, Dual-channel 533 MHz LPDDR2

I think the battery issue in Xperia 2012 those running on ST-Ericsson platform is an company experiment.

It seem like STMicro and Ericsson tuning something that much better in energy efficient, at least try.

The U8500 platform is first experiment of ultra-low watt core, that's provide same and steady power but saver more energy in overall operation plus fast charging solution.

Though, it not design for heavy-weight user at first anyway.

I think with S4 chip, 2000mAh battery should be enough. I got Arc S and to my knowledge it has 1500mAh. I'm a heavy user of 3G. I've noticed 3G consumes hell lot of battery but when I don't use a lot, it goes all good for a day. Sure 3000mAh is pretty good but still I think it's kind of too much at this point in the market. Again, not everybody is a true smartphone user. Most of the consumers are simple buyers who do not know about S4 or S3 chip. All they really care about the UI, Camera & GB.
