Well, I'm not planning to upgrade at this moment anyways and am hoping for some amazing phones at CES so if whatever you're talking about isn't due until then, I can live with it.
So let's see here, we've got new flagship phones, a new tablet and new TVs including an 84" 4k monster. Sony is going to have a pretty damned nice IFA |

While I don't know the official answer, I would guess it has to do with power consumption, the space it takes up in the phone, and maybe they felt that the CMOS sensors were advanced enough in low light situations that they might not always need them.
I too would love to see a xenon flash in a Sony phone again and I'm hoping that with the tech sharing between all their departments, they might decide to do it again. |

Leaked NTT DoCoMo roadmap points to upcoming Xperia Nexus?
There have been a number of rumours this year that Google may be planning to release more than one Nexus device in celebration of the five-year anniversary of Android. These rumours intensified this week when a leaked roadmap for Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo appeared to suggest several Nexus devices are planned from LG, Samsung and Sony.
The Sony Xperia Nexus (SO-04E) appears on this roadmap. If true, it would represent a watershed moment for the Android community.

Well, I'm making my decision on my next phone towards the end of September. If that weird side-buttoned thing that mobile-review previewed is the only thing of note coming internationally then my choice will fall to One X or the Xiaomi 2.
Off-topic: if anyone in the UK wants a Xiaomi 2 bringing over from China when I come home around Christmas time PM me and we'll discuss a mobile mule fee and logistics. It has an S4 Pro adreno 320 and 2GB RAM! Not to mention JB and an Angry Birds themed custom animated launcher.
