Correct me if i'm wrong, but that's X10 with 512 RAM. So we take an old phone, change the RAM amount and release it as a new one. Welcome in 2008! This is our old SE the way it worked back then!

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

However, I still prefer the beauty almost 2 year ARC instead J!!

ARC has:
1. better specs
2. better design
3. cost cheaper
4. got ICS too!

So what sense does J make?

@mediar

+8GB of ROM

X10 had 384MB RAM and 1GB ROM

512MB seems to be the minimum for ICS, Sony seems in 2012 learned the bad habit of low ROM size, even the low ends now has large ROM size...

I hope they extends their learning to the RAM also, they're still shy of adding RAM to their phones.. they need to add 1GB of RAM even to the top models in the mid-range... while all high-ends should have 1GB of RAM...

Next year we will see models with 2GB of RAM I know, but I hope this will not be for few models but most of high-end models...

Xperia J does have microSD card support. And what are you guys on about ? Xperia J will be cheaper than Arc. It will be Sony's 4th cheapest phone after Tipo, Tipo Dual and Miro. And all 4 have very little price difference between them

Xperia J is for people who just want a big screen at a low price...They probably use it to surf web...play some video...and hear some music...thats all...

Its an entry level phone...We have Xperia GX coming next month to replace ARC...

@randomuser: thanks for the info. and correction, good to know Sony (ericsson) didn't bother putting a card slot into it, as the NXT phones are severely limited by the absence of expansion slots. I can also see hardware buttons on the side, perhaps there's a camera shutter key as well. that's good, at least Sony (ericsson) still cares people who are used to their previous camera phones. I really think Xperia J is a better option than the crappy and ugly Miro and Tipo for those looking for affordable ICS smartphone.

Yes and all other competitors of J also use same S1 or worse CPU. So it really doesn't matter

I read elsewhere about the usage of the 2008 65 nm MSM7227 S1, that's why I was shocked. So it is still going to be a S1, but the 2011 45 nm MSM7227A, which is up to date .
