Xperia LT29i Hayabusa Arc Successor.
Comment from a Sony employee on Youtube:
"I'm not allow to reveal any critical info on the LT29i at the moment, but let's just say if the Xperia S is the design successor of the Xperia x10, the Hayabusa will be the design successor for the arc
The A15 Duals are exciting though"
This tallies with what Xperia Blog said at the start of the year.

"The 4.55-inch Xperia ION is instead expected to be the LT29i Hayabusa. It is meant to look very similar to the Xperia arc but will have specifications similar to that of the Xperia S (Nozomi)." |

I know Stephen Sneeden said that they're not planning any quad core devices but lets remind ourselves of this:
Unless the device has been cancelled, I cannot see how the Mint I will not use a quad core processor. As I've said before it's extremely dear at €562, so it will need to have specs greater then the Xperia S to justify the high price, a better camera, 16MP? Unlikely. Bigger screen, maybe a similar size to the Galaxy note? Possibly but seeing how the note is priced against the S2 this doesn't seem likely. So then what's left that's plausible? Quad core seems realistic in terms of the September realise and could be Sony first device designed by Sony alone?
Thoughts?

The reason why the Mint won't have a quad core CPU is that this year there won't be any Cortex A15 quad core chipsets out by anyone. And it makes no sense using Cortex A9 quad core chip when its easily outperformed by A15 dual core.
So I think the Mint may have a higher clocked Qualcomm krait possibly a 1.7ghz MSM 8960 PRO with Adreno 320 GPU. And the 28nm Cortex A15 chips from TI, ST-Ericsson and others will be available only in 2013. So Qualcomm is the only choice for Sony.
I think the premium price may have to do with use of OLED, premium materials, maybe 2GB RAM, and greater internal memory maybe 64gb and the second generation EXMOR R 13 mp camera with HDR video.

If Sony was smart, they buy Qualcomm? Than they have they own CPU |

^^ LOL
As of today, Qualcomm has a market cap of 100 billion dollars. Which is 5 times that of Sony Corporation. There is no way Sony can buy Qualcomm |

Could it be possible that Sony will use Samsung's Exonys 5250 for Mint? That's the only dual-core A15 I know of that will be available around Sep time-frame. |

I really don't think so. Its more than likely the S4 Qualcomm MSM 8960 Pro. |

@randomuser excuse my complete lack of knowledge on processors, but what is stopping them from using others such as Tegra 3?
Though interesting (and viable) reasons for the price of mint I, I suppose the advantage of them not having SD support is that they can then make a better phone which just more memory...

why buy Qualcomm, ST-Ericsson is better option and it could be seamlessly working with SE crews.

Didn't someone on this thread say that Mint wasn't a phone? Can't remember who....

Lol are you joking? Qualcomm could buy Sony if they wanted. Say what you want about Apple but they make great products that people are willing to pay a lot of dollars for, gj to them |

I think that was discussed here already a few pages back but let me summarize it for you again
1) Tegra 3 is Cortex a9 quad core chip, so its not the fastest/most powerful SoC right now, Snapdragon S4 is. Even though its dual core its based on Cortex A15 equivalent krait architecture so its much faster even with just two cores and also more battery efficient
2) Tegra 3 does not have support for LTE (now they do but not that convenient for OEMs still) whereas Snapdragon S4 comes integrated with cat.3 LTE support
In a single line, Sony won't use Tegra 3 because its outdated and not the best chip in the market right now. |

Lets not go overboard here. Is everyone here trying to imply that Qualcomm has more capital than Sony(Sony Entertainment+Sony Theatres+Sony Electronics+Sony Music+etc..)? |
