I am thinking of buying a Arc or Arc S. But the low internal memory of 320mb deters me. Is it enough for installing apps? I know some part of the app can be moved to sd card but still some remains on internal memory. Rooting the phone will solve this problem but I dont want to root a brand new phone. Kindly reply. Thanks.

How many apps you want to install? I have less internal memory than the arc and I'm quite happy. That's fair enough.

Sometimes I have found on some phones with low internal memory if it becomes nearly full the phone can slow down. There is an app from the market which lets you control and move your apparently to sd

Most newer apps, take lesser internal memory, however, some games take up alot, so it really depends on how you use it, i personally think atleast 1 gb should be there by default such as x10 however, 320mb seems kinda ok to me..

I am aware of apps2sd but even after using it some part of the app remains on internal memory. Moreover some widgets and apps dont function properly if they are on the sd card. I really think 1gb internal memory is a must for all android smartphones. Wonder why SE provides paltry 320mb. And they didnt increase it even in Arc S! Anyway, thanks for your replies.

The X10 has around 475mb user accessible internal mem, the rest is ROM. Im currently sitting on around 65mb internal left with around 75apps installed, only got around 2-3games, so 320mb grhould be fine for average use, but if you plan on loading it with many apps and games id suggest you look at the Galaxy SII, Motorola RAZR or HTC Sensation XE, they come with very large internal memory, something ive come to realise is that SE Androids arent built for power users, you often reach their limit quickly.

hi
i have the arc s and agree the internal memory should be atleast 1gb. look at the size of apps like facebook which cant even be moved to sd!
my internal memory was full within a week. i think theres plenty internal for you to move the moveable apps to sd and have plenty room in internal for ones that cant be moved and txt msgs etc. just buy a large sd card.
anyone got a link to a high quality but not too expensive 16 or 32gb micro sd?
