I want to know if anybody have tried CyanogenMod on their Xperia device? Is it any better than stock Android? What's good and whats bad about this ROM?

I am thinking about flashing my phone with CM 7.1 since most xperia devices are officially supported now. Since I have to unlock my bootloader and void my waranty, I want to be sure if its worth it first.

Well I tried it, and things I like very much are:

-Custom locksreen, You can unlock phone directly to choosen app(i.e camera)
-Gestures in lockscreen, I can simply swipe in lockscreen to enable torch (much faster than unlocking and activating it through widget or sth)
-Long press volume up/volume down acts in mp3 player like previous/next song, also long press camera button can stop/play file.

What I don't like is incompatibility with some of SE apps like data monitor, trackID (I'm on x10 though which isn't yet officially supported, that may be the cause, but i doubt it)

The only Xperia device I own is the X10MP with a rom based in the CM. The phone is much better than with stock. There are even roms with SE GUI and launcher.

Running it on my Ray. It's awesome. Much faster than stock ROM and access to more applications in market.

Im using Z's CM7-ZMOD CYANOGENMOD 7 from XDA for the time been until Cyanogen release the 7.1 for X10.The only con of this rom is Tethering and portable hotspot dont work but thats ok for me because I just tether using PDANet (full) so no loss really.Everything else works flawlessly.Fantastic rom.Speedy and buttery smooth. And that for me is its selling point over the SE rom.My phone has got to respond without lag or Im not a happy chappy. With a rooted phone and xRecovery installed you can switch between these roms at will.Takes no time at all.No harm in trying them until you find that one rom that fulfills all your needs.
