AT&T today announced no less than 5 new Android smartphones. During the CTIA taking place in California AT&T announced Motorola ATRIX 2, Samsung Captivate Glide, Samsung DoubleTime, Pantech Pocket and the AT&T Avail by ZTE Esato News
AT&Ts goal this year was to release 12 Android smartphones during 2011. This goal has been reach by far with the 5 new handsets announced today. The AT&T portfolio is now counting 19 Android smartphones which has been announced this year.
Motorola ATRIX 2 is a 4.3 inch 1GH dual core smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It is a 4G model at an affordable price according to AT&T. It has HD video capture and playback capabilities with true HD 1080p resolution recording and playback via HD monitors using a HDMI cable using Mirror mode.

Samsung Captivate Glide is also a 4G phone with HSPA+. It is a little more powerful backed up by a 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor. The 4 inch Super AMOLED touch display has a 480 x 800 resolution. The Captivate Glide has enhanced Exchange ActiveSync support for IT policies, tasks sync and global address look-up. Network are secured with virtual private network access and device encryption.

While the Atrix and Captivate phones have similar specs, the Samsung DoubleTime is something out of the ordinary. It is a folding QWERTY model with two displays. Both the external and internal touch displays are 3.2 inch large and have 320 x 480 pixel resolutions. DoubleTime runs on the older Android 2.2 Froyo and it has a more basic 3.2 megapixel camera and a 600 MHz processor.

Pantech Pocket is a 4 inch smartphone with the unique and more quadratic size with a 600 x 800 pixel resolution display not seen in any other devices before. It has the latest version of Android which is Gingerbread 2.3. Like all AT&T models announced today, it has good range of network frequencies which are 2G GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G UMTS 850/1900/2100. According to AT&T, the Pantech Pocket is a smartphone focused on social entertainment and messaging.
