Today Sony Ericsson release an Android 2.3.4 update for its flagship model Xperia Arc Esato News
Sony Ericsson are working hard to get consumers to gain back faith in their claim to be a company which will continue to serve buyers of their handset also after the purchase. This time, it's the Xperia Arc that receives the anticipated Android OS update. Xperia Neo received the update earlier this week, and now the time has come for Xperia Arc to get Android 2.3.4. We have covered the improvements of this update before but would like to emphasize the Swipe text input once more.
The Swipe to text is one of our favourite additions. We have shown this new addition of entering text to people not very interested in new mobile phone features, and the feedback was entirely positive. It takes a little while to get used to, but when you get the grip of it and the phone has learned your most used words, it's a much faster way to enter text.
We are located in Norway and are receiving the Nordic generic update. Owners in other parts of the world might receive the update a little later.
Watch the short video clip of Swipe to text in practice.

Ray and Neo have also received the 2.3.4 update. Since these phones are very similar to Arc regarding specifications, I believe the similarities also goes for the battery time. And for the Ray, which I have, I sense a considerable improvement, even though this can be caused by that my Ray is still very new, and the "burn-in" time for the battery is probably not yet finished, so the battey time improvement might also be caused by this.
