A little story about my dealings with Verizon Wireless over closing my account. I decided to cancel my service with Verizon to make room for the P800. I know that Verizon has a CDMA network as compared with other carriers using GSM. I was told by customer service that Verizon has the largest network in the US, compared with AT&T, T-mobile (he said its a very small company).
The gentlemen told me that Verizon has tested several different SonyEricsson phones on their network. They all had poor results, this is why you can not purchase any SonyEricsson phones at Verizon. He also pointed out to me that the GSM network is similar to your analog phone line, and expect static on your phone. He said that CDMA (which Verizon has) is the best, and its digital quality. All together it sounded like they take you for a ride, to see if you'll hang on. Let's just say my opinion of Verizon has changed towards the negative.

Yes, Verizon is the biggest service provider in the USA. However, CDMA is not better than GSM. They are both digital networks. I use my P800 with T-Mobile. Yes, they are small but they are nation wide, offer the best GSM plans and have good coverage in most metropolitan areas. The P800 is a tri band phone which means you can use it on all GSM networks around the world. If not T-Mobile you can also check out Cingular - they have great coverage.
