I really don't get this...

Apparently SE has the technology to put in some advanced technology such as polyphonic tones and 65k displays in their phones... they've used these technologies for a long time in Japan. WHY don't they start using these technologies in the GSM net? I sure do love my T68m, but it just isn't that "cool" anymore when my friend shows off with his samsung SGH-T100, and my second friend is about to buy the Panasonic GD87...
Come on SE, hurry up! |

yeah, but they don't have 40-channels, atleast not the T300... And the 256 colour display really can't match the TFT screens... ok, The p800 got a pretty nice screen and nice ring tones, but the P800 is a communicator, and therefore is rather big(no offence to you all P800 owners, but i'm after a mobile phone, not a PDA you can call from!)... |

fair comment, but SE have to be commended for the features they do provide that the other manufacturers don't, like BlueTooth for example, SE are one of the main companies responsible for it's introduction

Ever considered that the T68 is 1.5 years old, while all the models you're comparing it to are new? |

yeah, I agree, but still the ultimate mobile from SE would be a phone with 65k screen, 40(or more)-polyphonic tones, Digital camera on the back, and then with some advanced feature like bluetooth, Java, etc. =) |

in the same vein that the ultimate car would be one that 0-60 in 2secs with a fuel consumption of 100mpg and was safe and easy to drive, and easily available to all of us!

@eleventy7
ok, maybe the main point of this topic is that i don't understand how it can be that difficult remaking all those fancy little japanese phones and just make them GSM phones...
And i do think it's easier to make a phone that was like I said, then making that car...
P.S can someone translate mpg into miles per litre(and then i mean 1 swedish mile, 10km that is... not those british miles... =D ) D.S |

I think that 40+ poly tones would be pointless, because I don't use any of the preset ones on my phone anyway, I have downloaded my own. Some do have the 'more advanced features', and a digital camera would increase the size of the phone.

@Rashkae. yeah, since the T68I(and the T300 with the exact same screen) is the only phones they are selling right now... I'm excluding the P800 since it's to advanced for me. |

@jellyellie
The Nokia 7250 or whatever it's called... the 7210 with in-built digital camera doesn't look that big on the pictures i've seen...
But i wouldn't care much if they made a clamshell phone either... a bit bigger, but also a bit better =) |

@nokiakilla.
What do you mean by tested?
nope. I haven't tested the Tungsten and i'm not intending to either...
I do believe it's a good PDA, but the functions of a PDA is not those i'm looking for... |
