The latest news on the Apple Samsung case is that Samsung now has to show their products to Apple prior to being shipped so Apple can examine them for possible patent infringmenets.

Samsung has made it clear that their design division in question is in no way related to the division that supplies Apple with components so no need to worry about that, despite this whole patent case.

Well guess what, Samsung says that it is only fair to see the next iPhone and iPads.

See it here and here.

Hahaha Ya i read that too. Except apple has never released a product that looks anything like a samsung product. The fact that the galaxy tab 2 was already shown then recalled to "change strategies" when the ipad 2 was released shows who copied who.

Ya, except they're the only ones smart enough to patent the design.

The problem is that Apple claim to have invented everything next they'll be claiming to have invented to the mobile phone too and because they have so much power now and everyone is in awe of them they seem to get away with things.

Samsung Drops Counter-Suit Against Apple

Samsung Electronics Co. dropped a patent-infringement suit against Apple Inc. (AAPL), filed at a U.S. federal court in April in response to allegations its Galaxy products copied the iPhone and iPad.

To clarify, this does not mean that Samsung has abandoned its own infringement claims against Apple. Those claims have been rolled into counter-claims in the original suit.

Court tells Apple August 5 hearing on Samsung ban too early

Judge Lucy Koh told Apple in a weekend hearing that its request for a preliminary ban on Samsung devices might be too quick. The iPhone maker had suggested a hearing on the afternoon of August 5 but was told that the timing might not give either side enough time for discovery to prove or disprove the need for a ban. Both have until July 8 to provide a joint statement either agreeing on a schedule or explaining their views if they disagree.

A judge in The Hague just issued a ruling in Apple's patent infringement case against Samsung, prohibiting the marketing of Samsung smartphones Galaxy S, S II and Ace for violation of an Apple patent.

I thought it prohibited the sale of them in 7 countries including the Netherlands, which is their logistics hub for Europe. They should have a workaround.

Now I'm wondering when google will start throwing it weight around now it has Moto's patents.

It shouldn't affect Samsung too much as According to Tweakers.net, "Samsung says that it will replace the software that infringes on Apple's patent (the Gallery application, specifically), which should allow it to continue to sell the phones. Notably, that Gallery application is the standard Android one used in Android 2.3, which also explains why the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is not affected by this ruling. Less clear is what the ruling means for other Android phones that use the same application."

So Apple holds the patent for the screen to screen swiping technique and scrolling through a gallery using your finger?
