Does anyone know if the generic version lets you download the games using 3G?
I can't watch BBC iPlayer or download games unless I have a WiFi connection and I think it may be an operator restriction.

my sons Play came from Vodafone but I've just asked and he says its generic with no branding and can download games and watch iplayer via 3g.

Looks like I have to debrand mine then. Not sure why the put this restriction when they are offering 81GB allowancee monthly.
I knew there was a catch somewhere.

Actually, I'm having problems downloading game data using a WiFi connection anyway and appears I'm not the only one.
I hope  fix this soon because I'm really enjoying the phone so far.
