I thought of opening this thread for gaming on the Xperia PLAY
I will list all the games and emulators I have tried and played.
Please post your gaming reviews here

The Xperia PLAY games center
Displays the pre installed games, as well as games you buy.
In general the games seem to be optimized for the Play. Display battery usage is excellent, compared to the Arc.
I am sure now that SE, limited the brightness of the Play on purpose.
Air Attack HD
Great game; If you already know the 1941, 1942 etc games, you will love this one.
Only problem noticed is it drains the battery like crazy (same goes for Guerilla Bob).
Asphalt 6
If you like racing games, you will love this one. Graphics are excellent.
Loading times are long.
As always Gameloft games are beautiful, but animations and loadings are a pain.

Have not played yet.
Gun Bros
Found it unplayable on the Play...

Smooth and great Hockey game!
Menu does not work with dpad, only touch screen
Modern Combat 2 HD
Good graphics. The problem is aiming is very difficult with the analog touchpad.
Should be more optimized to the Xperia Play...
Nova 2
Same goes for Nova: Good graphics. The problem is aiming. It is very difficult with the analog touchpad.
Star Battalion
Excellent graphics and playability
Sims 3
Have not tried yet
Guerilla Bob
Lovely 3rd person shooter game. Great on the Play.
Problem is it drained my battery so quickly...
Not appearing in the game center:
Worms
Good gaming experience and good graphics.
Tetris
Excellent game
Playstation pocket (The PS games center)
Already istalled :
Syphon Filter
Hadn't played this game before. Found it awful on the Play.
Emulators:
PLAYSTATION
The PSX4droid for the Playstation 1 games.
Doesn't appear to be working : Version tested is 3.0.5
ARCADE
Emulators : Tiger Arcade & Android Arcade
Working roms on Tiger: The Capcom roms seem to be working along with some NEOGEO titles.
Compatibility issues are still here.
Working roms on Android arcade: same here, with a not so optimized screen display and game speed.
Nonetheless, the working roms are quite brilliant with the Dpad!
SEGA MASTER SYSTEM
Emulators: GearDroid
Plenty of roms, and excellent use of the Dpad.
SEGA GENESIS or MEGA DRIVE
Emulators: Gensoid
Plenty of roms, and excellent use of the Dpad.

Aw! I was about to edit my thread about the first game you wanna play with the Play but I guess you have more knowledge on this.
Looking forward for some more RPG (MMORPG may be better as it never implemented on a mobile phone), racing games and some more strategy games.

I was only able to try SIMS 3 so far among the list you have given since I just received my Xperia Play I ordered from timtechs last week. That Air Attack HD sounds really interesting! |
