Yeah I'd have to say Freddie Mercury as well.
James Hetfield may have a fair amount of 'presence' on stage, but ostentatious Freddie epitomised flamboyance as well; yeah pomp n' ceremony all wrapped up in one..and a vocal range that was legendary.

I have two Kurt Cobain and the former Guns n Roses Axl Rose.Just wish Axl had killed himself and not Cobain cause the latest Guns n Roses (the Axl band) album is mostly crap.One song worth listening to is Better.Nice track.The rest.Crap.

thats because slash, and duff wrote most of the early songs on illusion. rose did the lyrics for paradise and estranged (one of the greatest ballads ever). still, i'd take rose over cobain anyday of the week.
