Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.3 Gingerbread update

The Samsung Galaxy S i9000 will get the update after March 20 according to Samsungs Romanian facebook page. Before that date, version 2.2.1 is available for Galaxy S. All three phones was shipped with Android 2.1 when they were launched last year. Only Galaxy S will get the latest Android 2.3 version while owners of Galaxy 3 I5800 and Galaxy 5 I5500 will be able to upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo.

While the Romanian facebook status page only are for the Romanian market, we expect the update to be available to other markets at the same time.

That Galaxy-S is still such a powerful phone, great work by Samsung, this is the one Android i wish i had taken over the X10 in their time. SE should do the same, update X10Mini/Pro and X8 to Froyo and X10 to Gingerbread.
