Looking at video-samples recorded by Neo and Mini, it looks to me like Neo does a much better job. Should Mini theoretically be able to record in the same quality as Neo? |

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Is it true I cannot type SMS using a numeric keypad with T9? |

True to their word SE have released the 2.3.3 update for the Xperia Neo.
Have updated it this morning & so far noticed the phone boots up a little quicker / general menus seems a little quicker / facebook intergration throughout.
The only downside is that Gingerbreak no longer works so will have to wait for an updated version so I can remove all the bloatware again. |

@mr_lou: Is your question specifically about the neo or SE Androids in general?... because Im using HTC_IME mod by Jonas from XDA Devs in my X10, and everything is OK... that keyboard is a numeric one with T9... i just seem to type faster that way....
I think there should be no issues regarding the numeric keyboard on the neo...

Updated my Neo too, this afternoon.
Indeed Neo boots quicker than before, but I don't understand Facebook Inside Xperia.
How it works??

It's basically so you can "like" several different things on your phone & it will post to facebook , so basically if you play a song with the stock music app there is a like button in top corner.
Same goes for pics & videos I believe.
There may be more things it can do but that's the gist of it. |

The sales of Neo has now officially started in Sweden, much earlier than what was previously expected.

I don't like what I'm reading here about the camera quality.
The 8.1-megapixel camera with LED flash is one of the main selling points of the Xperia neo. What's so special about it? Sony claims that the EXMOR R sensor improves significantly low-light performance. In our view, though, it ranked rather average as colors looked slightly washed out, while most of the images we took looked undersharpened and weren't as rich in detail as we would expect from an 8-megapixel camera. The camera managed to handle well contrasting objects, but we could notice that sometimes it picked up side light and overexposed pictures. Surprisingly enough, low-lit scenes - where we expected to see the handset outshine competition - lacked sharpness, especially when we used the flash, and noise was also prevalent.
When it comes to video recording, you have 720p HD capture at 30 frames per second. You can also use the LED flash to illuminate nightly scenes. We weren't all that happy to see the same issue with undersharpened footage and disappointing overall quality.

I stopped reading phonearena a while ago.
This is what GSM Arena has to say:
The image quality is a mixed-bag. There’s enough of fine detail in the Xperia Neo shots, but it’s a lot lower of what we saw on the Arc’s images. The color rendering is good, but the noise levels are too high and in some places you can observe the so-called staircase effect. We really hoped for much better than that.
The videos run smooth, but have the same problems as the still images. This time they are virtually identical to those by the Xperia Arc. The resolved detail is good, the noise levels are kept low, but the staircase effect is visible on too much places as it was on the Arc
At least the image/video quality is not as ba as phonearena claims it to be.

Don't trust them so much. Open their Picture compare tool (or however it's called) and compare Arc and Neo. I even noticed that Neo does a better job than Arc at taking pics.
Edit: here's a proof for that:

They did say Arc's pictures are better.
