no Clear black panel on Xperia Neo as far as I know as the neo's screen is slightly sunk in from the glass compared to the screen & glass bonded together on the Arc. I could be wrong but I don't think so.
this could also be why the Neo's glass is slightly more reflective in strong sunlight but again in most cases I have had no problem at all.
In 95% of all circumstances when you put a neo side by side to an Arc & show the same thing on the screens they are identical, I really struggle to see any difference apart from screen size.
I think SE have hit it spot on with the Neo, Funky looking design to appeal to the masses & even top end tech to appeal to the serious phone lovers etc...
Ideally I think this should be hitting UK stores at £299 to be a really tasty prospect to all. |

I can't see them doing a xenon flash android unless they decide to release a really top of the range "cybershot" model as led flash is fine for most everyday users, also I have to say the led flash on Neo is pretty bright as is so not sure i'd want anything more powerful. |

Why XENON still need today, as it major reason of battery drainer plus Android also power-hungry OS or bad power management something, it couldn't survive after half day with moderate use I think.
This is why Exmor R had been developed with back illuminated structure to pick up better light, but first gen of them in mobile quite disappointed to me or probably something wrong image processing software.
I couldn't even imagine that new Exmor R sensor will get real bigger at least to match with same size of SATIO (1/2.4) with variable aperture will help them to be little perfect.

Oh thanks, so the Differences of Arc against Aside from their Similarities
1GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset
8.1MP Exmor R camera sensor
Bravia Engine display
HDMI support
HD video recording (720p)
Neo has
No Clear Black Panel
380MB of Ram(vs 512)
3.7 inch screen(vs 4.2)
Thicker size by 5.x mm(vs 8.7)
Heavier 126 grams(vs 117 grams)
but Neo have Front Facing Camera and is Cheaper and doesn't have the Arc Issues in Positioning of Camera Shutter, Camera Sensor.
did i miss something?

Simple really, some RAM is reserved by android, the adreno graphic chip and other stuff.
Statement from SE on facebook:
"Sony Ericsson
To clarify:
The RAM is 512 MB, the free phone memory is up to 320 MB.

"
Just fow funzies:

They also state 512 RAM, 380 user available.
EDIT:
Just checked the e-tailers here in sweden, most of them have moved the launch date from may to august now.. sigh, I really wanted a Neo but there's no way I'm waiting another quarter for it.

they introduced Exmor... but seems no difference.. atleast xenon would demand faster shutter speed so that i can use it for some freezing shot as my k810i does.. anyway we are not always using xenon so it doesnot eat the whole battery
i dont see why they dont release atleast one phone with xenon... even moto did a xenonish droid..

well it's good to know that all of them have 512mb of ram and about 380mb of ram user available which is sufficient to run most apps and games including HD games
they introduced Exmor... but seems no difference.. atleast xenon would demand faster shutter speed so that i can use it for some freezing shot as my k810i does.. anyway we are not always using xenon so it doesnot eat the whole battery
i remembered when they firstly introduced k750i and w800i, k750i was not a cybershot but a quickshare mobile but it was marketed to be a Mobile Camera, and w800i was the first walkman introduced to sonyericsson, and k800i was the first Cyber-shot phone
right now W8 was introduced as their first walkman android and another rumor with w15(which i think this will be their High End Walkman for Android), so i think i have a feeling that there will be a cyber-shot branding coming in the future? so maybe Xenon Flash with lots of Cyber-shot Features including the Design will be reserved for this kind of Android?
maybe well see in the future
