I have the Sony Ericsson W995 (brilliant mobile), anyway I can use it on WiFi, but alas the code I setup for my laptop is a 64 digit Alphanumerical code, would like to get that code onto my mobile, any ideas other than painstakeinly keying in every capitol/lowercase/number, comma, question mark etc, etc. |

@peter4076:; Hi, yes, the W995 its a quite good mobile phone, I own one, although I currently use it only as a music player, because of the X10. Anyways, try writing the code in a .txt file in your pc, and then copy that file to the mobile, you should be able to copy and paste its contents to the password dialog box.
Good luck!

Create a new note with the code. And whenever you need wifi go to your notes and edit the note with the code. Then copy all the code and paste it in the password field.

when the text entry screen comes up on some phones there will be an options menu if you press one of the soft keys (usually the left one) and that will bring up the optiosn where you can scroll down to copt & paste and then paste your password in |

How come you can't paste it? Oh well. If you want to switch between upper and lower case you must press the asterisk key (*).

The more simpler solution for this is asada's recommendation to just simply change the access code in your wifi router to something you can easily type to your phone but is not easily hackable at the same time. |

I am beginning to agree, but because I do a lot of buying, banking, paying all my utility bills online, etc, I was a bit paranoid about security, so a 64 digit Alphanumerical password, is as they say virtually unbreakable, and for the past 8 years its been excellent, so I will maintain the status quo, I don't think I would have used the facilty much, as I have a 1gig a month data allowance on the internet, without limiting myself to the range of my router, I just wanted to know how to do it, for my personel knowledge.
I wish to thank you all for your input, it 10.15pm here in the UK, so I'm going to call it a night. |
