Any 170 or under phones coming out by  soon? excluding x8, which for some reason is dirt cheap at 135 at orange  (incl. 10 topup) x10 mini is not enough for me

The new version of the Mini & Pro are arriving soon with better specs bigger screens though am unsure of pricing. I have seen the x8 for cheaper @ O2 for 112

Depends if you want to stay with Android, for 170 you might be able to push for a X10 if you are happy sticking with 2.1 or wait a couple of months (hopefully ) and save up and see about getting a Xperia Arc. My contract is up in April and I hope the Arc might be out by then

Meh. I gave up on low price Androids now. They're useless. 250 for a Defy is good enough for me

Why not just get a X10, arent they more affordable now? Plus its officialy getting 2.3 unlike the Defy which is only getting 2.2
