Does Xperia X10 even support 32GB? I'm looking at cards from Newegg and the 32GB range from 50 to 100 USD. Most of the reviewers are camera users, so I'm not sure how reliable their reviews are (they are constantly inserting and removing their cards, whereas we can transfer files without removing it)

It does support 32 GB. At least after the update to Android 2.1. X10 Whitepaper (pdf)

Shouldn't every microSD card listed be OK? Why don't you check out the memory card manufacture web site for compatibility with the X10. SanDisk here

If most of the reviewers are camera users then most of them are probably using SDHC cards as opposed to Micro SD cards so I would rule them out. I don't know about the 32GB but I have the 16GB which works really well. Your experia should be able to handle it.

@SKIBBE, are you still satisfied with your A-Data card?

I am mostly concerned with the differences between brands: Kingston, A-Data, SanDisk, Patriot, Transcend, PNY, Dane-Elec, and Ridata. I know that SanDisk should be solid (also why they are the most $$). Kingston seems to have been around a while. I also know that Ridata is/was well respected in the blank dvd world.

@cletus141 yeah it works, have not have any data failure/problems (i do not transfer a great amount of data anymore) now it just serves as storage for the camera/apps so i guess i have like 10gb free space.

i have a nice dataplan, so for music i use Spotify/streaming no need to sync offline files nither. otherwise it would be nice with a large mp3 libary

just my share:

i have used Kingston, Ridata as well as Sandisk through the years, both for USB as well as camera/phone memory cards. two Kingston USBs (2gb and 4gb) and a phone memory card (2gb) crashed after some time. Ridata appears reliable as i am still using one (512mb) for my old camera (Olympus C-3000 Zoom) for the last 6 years or so. i have also found out that there are a lot of fakes/imitations in my country especially for Sandisk and Transcend with a price difference of at least 25%. the physical difference is somehow noticeable for the discerning buyer/user. there are no imitations for Kingston that i know of at the moment. so far, Transcend (the original, of course) tops my list. i am currently using an 8gb microSD for my Samsung Wave mainly as storage and some occasional file transfers. the original memory card that came with it was a 2gb Sandisk that appears to be fake. oh well...

@aldrinus i dont really have the "fake" problem here in sweden, (as far as i know) if something like that came out the phone companys here in sweden would take alot of damage.

you are right, SKIBBE. i sure am certain that issue is absent anywhere near Europe because of stringent laws on copyright, etc... its a sad reality on this part of the world, i guess. but anyway, one should really get what one pays for.
