Hi All,
My mother-in-law owns a cafe and is starting to branch out with new ideas and we are thinking of maybe offering free WiFi to customers but being a cafe we do not want people coming in buying one coffee and sitting all afternoon using the free internet.
So it will need activating for a period of time with a password and then after that time turning off.......if they buy another drink or item they get another free period of time on the internet.
I do not know whether this is possible and am struggling to find answers on the internet as I do not know what to search for.
Does any one have any tips which they could share or possible links to potential websites.
Many Thanks
James

You could take a look at this page where 5 open source solutions are discussed (search for hotspot management system on google). As far as I konw, you will need to buy a router and modify the firmware by uploading a modified one, and/or have a linux pc with two network cards connected to a unmodified standard router. |
