Right guys I need to call in a favour!

I've got a problem with my phone. It seems as though about 30% of my phone is now invisible, meaning that I can not get to it by scrolling through the names . However if I tap in the number manually or I get a call from the number the name will still come up!!!

I looked through the position list in the options of the phonebook and the numbers are there but I can't get to them - this one has really dumb founded me!! Anyone else had / got / resolved this problem??

I had this problem and tracked it down to the details in outlook. The problem seemed to come from contact emtries for companies that had the "Company" field filled but not the "Full Name" so for these entries I copied the value in "Company" to "Full Name", deleted all entries in the phones contact list and did a full sync. I have not had the problem since.

I had a feeling it would be something to do with outlook. but none of my missing contacts had company details so i don't think it would be that.

Has anyone else had and solved this problem?

Yes, backup your data and do a Master Reset.

Had this problem a while back too, this works but you have to re-install your images, ringtones and voice recordings etc.

Hmm, I had this - it turned out the numbers i was calling was in my sim card, but NOT in the fone memory.. so it would recognise them when i call em from the sim.. is it not that dude?

fixed this by copying all my numbers to my simcard, or paper. erasing the whole of my phone's fone book. then copying the numbers back to the phone. worked like a charm.

Nah it's definitely not to do with the sim card. I've never use the sim card and I've checked if there are any names on there.

Also copying the names by hand is not really an option I'd be here for ages!

Thanks for your help though guys I'll be able to sort it out when I get home - I've been away for a while and was wondering if I could resolve it in one of the options on the phone.

Cheers
