It depends on your priorities. If you want a decent sized screen and atleast standard Android resolution to be able to run all apps, go for the X8. Otherwise the mini pro is the best bet as it has a keyboard and a better camera.

The Mini Pro can run almost all Android apps... your limitation is the screen size. Games work, but realistically, gaming on a 2.5" screen kinda sucks... so I don't bother. Watching movies is possible, but not that much fun. I like having a couple of movies just in case, but I don't rely on my Mini Pro as my sole portable movie player.

If your not fused about camera then the x8 is better imo. Having had the x8 its much nicer in design screen and battery life. Camera is decent for a fixed focus anyway. Battery life on the x8 is very good the best of all the Xperia range. If also you want hardware keyboard then go for x10 Pro.

I want to play Games: X8 : Bigger Screen and Resolution
I want to play Movies: X8 : Bigger Screen and Resolution
I want a phone with decent Battery Life: X8 : 1200mAh vs 930mAh
I want to play Music: X8 has decent and louder audio output than X10mp
I want to install most of Android Apps that will run on my phone: X8 : Limitation of APPs on Screen Resolution
I want a small phone: X10mp : Smaller size than X8
I want to type fast: X10mp : Slide out QWERTY Keyboard
I want to take pictures: X10mp : 5mp with Autofocus and Video Light
and depends where you live, here in Philippines X8 cost 9,700($230 rough estimate) and X10mp cost 10,200($242 rough estimate) X8 is cheaper here in my place 
and check the packaging sometimes SE is so generous in some countries

If you want all that why not if your budget can stretch get the big X10 with huge 4 inch screen 8 meg camera great for movies games and all apps and multi media

Yep, if you can try stretch your budget and get the big X10, otherwise if you cant and the QWERTY in the Mini Pro isn't that necessary to you i'd say get the X8.

Will be getting X10 Mini Pro as I'm a sucker for a compact magical phone. Still waiting for official release of X10 Mini Pro so I can get one at dirt cheap price. Don't really care with Froyo/Gingerbread/Honeycomb/Crme brle, will be using it as  intended it to be.
