Yes,
about four days ago i was flying back from italy and turned my phone on flight mode so that i could listen to my mp3 and one of the flight attendants told me i could not have it on. Once i showed her ther was a flight mode, thy were cool |

I think it is a really cool function on the P800. Not only is it for flights but in hospitals and other sensitive areas as well.

but some flights even say you cannot use mp3 players and gameboy`s or other electronic stuff.. and the p800 has all that packed into it!
But still, Nobody bothered me on the 4 hour flight I had recently, used the P800 all the way, not one boring second! |

I once had a flight attendant tell me to turn off my calculator
it was a graphical, and my laptop died out (7h flight), so I started playing games on my calc..
she was like "no electronics.. it cld harm the system"
and I was like "it's a calculator.."
she was like "TURN IT OFF"
I'm like "ok, piss off"
damn flight attendant raising her voice to me.. I was in 1st class to top it all off!

Did you log a complaint? A person flying in 1st class should not be treated that way. |

Nowadays, I don't think it's a problem, even if you don't have flightmode enabled. Maybe on some ancient planes the phone could start interfering with the aircraft's communication channels... I regularly hear those Nokia SMS-beeps prior to landing and just after takeoff and it's never ever been a problem. It also depends on the airline, for example KLM flight attendants will let you use the phone till pushback, if they see a phone on an Easyjet flight, they will ask you to turn it off, no matter what... If it would really be unsecure, they would take the phone from you at the metal-detactor... |
