Take a picture with the cam of someone in your contactlist, attach it to the contact in the phone book, and then delete the image in the images menu.
The picture however remains stored somewhere in the phone's memory somewhere because it keeps popping up if that person calls you. I've browsed all the folders, both internal memory and memory stick duo, but my p800 doesn't reveil the location of the images that are in use for the picture phone book. Any ideas?
If you go to the contact in the phone book menu you can see, delete or replace the image but no info about the storage location. As I see it this means that it's pretty difficult to backup all your contact pictures unless you made a backup before deleting it in the images menu.

I dont hv to keep the pics on my phone for them to stay on the contact?
OH SWEET!!!!
I think it saves it as part of the contact..
it's like saying if a contact's home numbers r all stored somewhere, and cell nubmers elsewhere
the file (vdf I think) holds the binary code for the picture and just compiles it

fijbert is right, and this goes for the T68 as well. |

I think this also works for the 7650 too. Because i take a picture of someone, add it to there number then delete the original picture and the picture still stays with the contact!!

I do note, however, that the picture attached to the contact does not get synchronised back to outlook. (or is there a setting for this?) |

Don't forget that the internal memory of the P800 is divided into 12 MB for us to use and the left 4 MB is used by the P800 for this kind of storage. So u can only see files stored into ur part of memory.
