did anyone else notice that the notification bar is clear through the phone? Does than mean the bottom section is basically obsolete, an empty casing? or is there clear iring magic going on there?

P.S. I still think the bar looks cheap and brings down the whole phone

edit: wow, you can see the paint rubbed off already on the corners of the volume rocker. They'll need to touch that up a bit with quality paint before release

I can't really see tbh, I don't think there is any . What is also a bit weird is why the 'battery' cover is removable when the only thing this provides access too is the Micro SIM card? Surely they could have put this on the side of the phone. Having a battery cover makes the phone feel more flimsy (my the battery cover on my arc creaks) where as phones without this, like the iPhone feel far stronger...so that would be the only advantage of not having a removable battery, but then SE have decided to opt for a cover anyway? baffling...

Also the back looks very bare and very x10 like. An interesting strategy is the Micro SIM and non-removable battery, which sadly looks like they are going 'main stream' to get more sales, like samsung has done) compromising on amazing unique designs, and making it look more like your standard touch screen phone...

Fixed battery means that they can place the elements of the battery in whatever shape or size they want, not have to put it in a special case of it's own and save on precious cubic mm of volume in the casing. I believe.

The trade off is that when he phone gets older ad the battery is getting upset after 1000s of charges/discharges you can't replace it without opening the housing and potentially voiding your warranty.

For me it's nice to see fully internal memory at 16GB and 32GB and I'm ok with the internal battery and micro-sim (if that's what it is) I can deal with them.

hmm...

live shots are great but i'm a bit disappointed with some things. having a removable back over is pointless if the battery can't be replaced. a simple slot for the SIM would have been sufficient. the portion under the clear bar, as ricky said, seems to be useless? That's just poor design i think. Why increase the size of the device for no reason?

These pictures don't really do it any justice. Poor lighting, poor camera quality. I'll wait to see what the official announcement says. I hope they right some of the wrongs here and explain the purpose of the bottom portion, if there is one.

Different HW, different proportions, different design, there is no similarity between Arc and Nozomi. I think name will begin with "c" or "e" letter (according to alleged 1st official pic leak).

I servilely doubt the bottom bit below the see through part would just be an empty bit of plastic - come on, give SE some credit!

HTC Desire and Desire HD. How similar are those two? There countless other examples. Think the point of continuing a name is to MARKET a device as an upgrade

It looks more like an X10 HD.
