Not trying to bust your balls here, but the product blog states it has '3D sweep panarama' not 'sweep multi angle', can you clear this up?

We're talking about the screen, not the panorama capture.

According to Se's site, the neo V also has some sort of 3D display:

Straddle the peaks. Dive into the depths. Make your breathtaking mountain panoramas look, well, breathtaking. Select Sony’s 3D Sweep Panorama and catch the scene. Now amaze your mates and show it on a 3D TV.
No 3D TV? No problem. See your photos come to life on the multi-angle 3D display.

It is actually not a 3D screen, but a technique used by Sony using a 2D screen and the position sensor of a device in order to display the same scene from slightly different angles (called Sweep Multi Angle). The device - so far only Sony cameras, now also Sony Ericsson mobile phones - switches the images depending on the angle it is held. This gives kind of a 3D effect on a 2D display. Sorry, not so easy to explain But I have to say: I was very surprised how well the illusion works...
Demo of this (and more of the 2.3.4 upgrade) to follow soon.

I'd like that to be true, but I am not so sure, pretty sure they had that it is with a completable 3D TV you will be able to look back at your pictures in true 3D?

There will be both modes. The sweep multiple angle mode saves actually two files, one as 3d picture, and one as multi angle picture.

How similar would you consider the neo and the neo v?

Hardware is the same. The only difference is in the software.

He couldn't tell me! I couldn't see a front facing cam! I will see him this weekend and hope to get more info/see the device again if he still has it.

It could be a prototype using the Arc case.

Realistically the next SE flagship will need to have at least the current SGS2 specs to compete. We all want 12mp camera, qHD display but I reckon that the next flagship will probably have:

-4.3/4.2 inch screen with higher resolution (still backlit LED);
- Gorilla glass with oleo phobic coating (to stop fingerprints);
-same 8mpx camera in the Arc (albeit with some tweaks, more manual options);
-1.4 dualcore processor;
-1GB of RAM;
-16GB internal memory;
- front facing camera;
- Touch sensitive buttons (they'll remove the physical ones apart from volume, power and camera shutter);
- full 1080p video recording.
- updated SE skinning with more tweaks.

Well, there's only one thing SE can do to be back at top. Put xenon flash in the phone, because hardware wise SE will never beat the competition. I mean, we had pretty good phones with xenon flash, why is it so hard to go back to these times I would just love to have phone with xenon flash, I can live with one core, but camera is shitty without proper flash, it may be even 25MP it will still sucks without flash!

I think that is the main thing missing from the 2011 Xperia line up - a proper flash, whether it is Xenon or some other technology.

They are still releasing new heritage phones such as the Live with , perhaps android with Cyber-shot is not far behind.

I think the fear with Xenon is that it would massively eat into battery, also the modules are bigger. Agreed thou, it would be a welcome edition. The Xenon on the C905 was awesome.

I think SE may push more towards Cybershot again, esp after the Exmor R sensor in the Arc, they really, really need to invest more in the camera dept. 8mpx is fine, but we need more options and tweaks (quality settings, colour settings) so we don't just get the default over saturated, compressed photos the Arc produces. I've no doubt that the Arc sensor is very good, but it really is held back by SE's default image processing.

Sonyericsson 8MP exmor sensor is not that good than you think. Next Iphone will have 8MP SONY image sensor that is different from sonyericsson 8 MP exmor sensor and has different lens. If the sonyericsson sensor 8MP Exmor V1 is ~15-20 $, sony sensor and lens kit for next iphone will cost double,, like ~30-40 $ per module. If you will compare in next mounth Iphone 5 vs Xperia Arc you will see a huge image quality difference between photos of the two phones even if the two sensors cames from same manufacture (sony).

Xperia Arc lens are low quality ones and the image sensor came in the market to fast without much tweaking in sensor arhitecture.
Much better was for sonyericsson if they used in new xperia phones kit sensors from samsung, toshiba or other companies. They failed with xperia 2011 photo quality and camera.

Galaxy s2 image sensor has a huge deparasitating hardware filter.. sony ericsson xperia arc lacks one ....

Even latest generations of korean led flash are 2x. 4x performant than sonyericssson used in xperia 2011 family. And they aproach xenon in lumens.. SONY ERICSSON WAKE UP.. we are all asking to wake up but you're sleepin in your pants... WAKE UP !!!

So tell me what's the difference between sonyericsson xenon and samsung latest high power led flash

Lot of people may be waiting for android phone with xenon flash.. Im waiting for long time... Even motorola developed one but they failed in quality.. We really dont want a thin phone with xenon.. We simply want xenon with good image quality.. I dont call c901 as thicker phone as its considerably thin for a xenon phone.. So if push something from their effort then they can manage to bring some thinner phones..
The android currently lacks xenon phones.. I doubt samsung keeps something under their roof. If so then they will eat the market again.. Then there will b no place for at least can be good in this segment if they bring a cybershot. Walkman is old story since software trickes no longer cheat android users there are plenty of music players available with great functionality.. So its better to undust some old xenon modules.
