I read somewhere that QUALCOMM is sampling there Dual Core chips from Next month.[Does that mean they are mass producing this chip or wot?] some1 Care to explain, thx |

Qualcomm already have Dual-Cores ready and shipped and they're already being in use in several smartphones & tablets...
MSM8260 ( Already sampled in Q310, 1.2GHz dual-core, Adreno 220 GPU ) is used in HTC Sensation & ASUS Eee Pad MeMo...
MSM8660 ( same as MSM8260 but with 1.2 or 1.5GHz speed ) is used in HTC EVO 3D
even the next gen. chipsets MSM8270 & MSM8960 which are manufactured using 28nm are supposed to be already sampled ( Q211 scheduled )... no Quad Core in these, they just use 28nm and faster Adreno 225 GPU ( compared to Adreno 220 in previews gen )... I'm expecting seeing these in handsets late 2011 or early 2012... if want new chipsets these will be perfect for late 2011 release...
but lately Qualcomm announced new chipsets that are Dual and Quad Core, but as they are just ann. I suppose they didn't sample them yet...

The problem is... Are they going to use the new 28nm (which will be better than sgs2's 40nm and sensation's 45nm) or use the old snapdragon 45nm?
If we are to see 28nm dual core snapdragon on a se device, it will be next year q2. But if they are using the 45nm dual core snapdragon, q4 maybe? Since sensation is released, but it won't be as good as sgs2!
Se is not going to keep up with the others if they stick with qualcomm

Dude, 80% of all smartphones don't have camerabuttons. When you think like that, every phone has more than one MAJOR flaw....
is one of the first to adopt the dedicated camera button, and this put in a good advantage in the market it was a unique for to have most of it's phones from mid to high end have camera button.. even for non-cybershot phones and for non-camera oriented phones...
I'm very disappointed now that doesn't try to keep up with this... in Play I think they were forced duo to the Play other buttons design ( even thought I think they can manage a dual function button ).. but for a device like this... I wonder which excuse is giving.. reducing cost ??
Oh, I do agree very much that every phone should have a camera button and that it's a goot thing for SE to keep doing (dual function buttons would be simple and great on the Play). But the point I wanted to make is that it's just a pity, not a MAJOR flaw... Not even a major flaw
@razec Haha, thanx dude |

Why have to wait for Qualcomm (which is pretty late in game and make slowly provide latest tech to consumers HTC Desire HD and XPERIA Arc for example), HTC and Microsoft even Apple this time rumour touted them as chipset manufacture for next gen iPhone.
can have best choice with ST-Ericsson ultimately powerful hardware with combining of A9600 (Cortex A15 @2.5Ghz 28nm w/ Rogue) + M5730 (Samsung also using this in their 4G phone in America) and more important it likely to have sampling now.
If they still stick with Qualcomm whatever cause of contract or deal, I hope they would bring out their dual core thing with Qualcomm Krait which is manufacture at 28nm and come with Adreno 225 as well, if they only come up with MSM8260 like HTC Sensation follow footstep of Desire HD it just will be big time suicide and can't keep compete in this fierce market for any longer because latest tech stuff will throw out from head to toes Cortex A15 platform DDR3 from TI and latest awesomeness mobile graphic chip from Imagination which currently ST-Ericsson only using them on their platform A9600 Novathor.
just my two cents!

so this is might be benefit from paired with Qualcomm?
and what for the rest? Imagination's PowerVR / Arm's Mali / Nvidia's Tegra
For Nvidia might not affect much because of Tegra Zone HD content in developing as well
It's little remind me of time when Nvidia and ATi play catch up in graphic card sells with exclusively games
(Crysis for example ATi card never perform well on this game)
