My P800 has stopped sending touch tones. I now cannot access my voicemail or any automated phone service that requires tones. The options menu shows that tones are turned on, but when I press a button on the keypad, the number shows grey in the display and not black. If I press "#" after the series of tones, I get an option to "send" in the soft key area, but then get a message "network error".

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there as setting I need to change? My phone was sending tones for the first two weeks after I got it, and has now stopped. Please help.

Yes. I had this problem...and I fixed it. OK, best I can figure here is that every week or so I need to do a hard reset of the phone. Backup any ringtones and images you have in the phone memory - as well as address book, etc. Then do a hard reset. You will find the problem has magically fixed itself. I cannot prove it but I believe this problem surfaces only when you try to use the "redial" feature. Don't use that feature and you should not have this problem. I bet they fix this in next software update. Happy P800ing!

I tried a master reset on the phone, but it didn't fix the problem. I then put my SIM card in my old T68i and had the same problem, so I called T-Mobile ant they informed me that they were having problems in New York with DTMF tones since February 6. It seems to be working now.

You were right! I guess my "fix" worked during a period when T Mobile got the tones working again. I am in New York City and I am having the same problems...let's hope they fix it for good soon. As of this post I am still having problems.
