Im bored of waiting for the P800(UK) but was considering an Ipaq 3970 rrp 399.99.
It hasnt got the built in camera but I have a T68i and camera which I can transfer images to the Ipaq, It also has a full web browser. What do you think? Is it worth waiting for the P800 and everyone will have one or shall I go for the more sophisticated Ipaq?

The iPaq and T68i are good indeed but I don't like to carry around on many things and you would have to carry on three separate gadgets...iPaq, T68i, and camera. Might as well have it all in one in the P800.

Well... I was using a T68i with an Ipaq 5450 until I got my P800. Now I use the P800 and the Ipaq and keep the T68i as a spare phone or if I am going out somewhere where I don't want anything too big with me.
Thw browser in the Ipaq is far superior to the P800 in my opinion and I just love to read stuff downloaded into AVANTGO on my weekly flights back and forth from UK to Frankfurt where I am working.
I've only had the P800 a cuople of weeks but its still in evaluation mode for me and its possible I may yet go back to T68i and Ipaq.
Now... if HP bring out an ipaq with all the features of the 5450 (wifi, bluetooth etc) and incorporate the GSM side of things then that would be the time I go to a single device. Though having said that I would probably still keep the T68i as a backup and for times when I don't want to carry anything too big around with me! |

I'm replying using my iPAQ3970 with bluetooth connection to my T68 over Orange PAYG GPRS.
The two work great together and currently have more functionality than the P800 (can get 8 cd albums on my 256MB SD card).
I will still be getting a P800 though to replace my T68 as I am A fan of the Symbian operating system. There are a lot of great programmes for the Pocket PC and the iPAQ hardware is great, but I think the MS OS is poor. Any specific questions then ask away. |

I used to find using the menus a bit repetative on my ipaq, i didn`t need all the features & Bluetooth was limited. i prefer the p8,
@Masseur, You need the new HP 5000, (A GSM ipaq) |

@psikey: I think all the symbian software is part of the reason why I am still having fun with the P800. That and the fact my kids both have T300 + cam and we can share polyphonic tunes.
@pachy: My understanding is that the 5000 (or 5600 or whatever they decide to call it) will have GSM instead of wifi as the require different antennae but since there is no firm spec yet I guess I will wait and see. |

Yes, iPaq is probably a better PDA for the Power User but for the casual, convenience, or average user the P800 is GREAT!!
